The Communications and Public Relations Director is responsible for executing an annual program of work as defined by the NCEDB Communications and Public Relations committee, including but not limited to maintaining website content, coordinating production of public relations videos and A/V presentations, maintaining an online presence through NCEDB social media accounts, and producing news releases and newsletters for various audiences. Work also involves compiling and responding to information and data requests and maintaining a variety of records and files. The Communications and Public Relations Director also supervises the NCEDB Administrative Assistant, including oversight of NCEDB’s accounting and bookkeeping systems. The Communications and Public Relations Director must exercise strong independent judgment, discretion, tact, courtesy and initiative in completing assignments and dealing with NCEDB’s investors, partners, clients and the general public. Responsibilities: Writes, edits and coordinates the preparation of reports, correspondence and board communication pieces, and presentations, including the determination of necessary content. Responds to various information requests from the board, stakeholders and community, including but not limited to demographic data analysis, connections with community leaders and investment inquiries. Maintains website content and blog posts, per recommendations from investors, board members and staff. Serves as central point of contact for media inquiries and provides accurate and timely information to the news media. Job-related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include: Considerable knowledge of business English, arithmetic, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office® Suite of software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Proficiency with general office methods, practices and procedures; and skill in organizing work flow and coordinating work activities. Ability to operate with appropriate speed and accuracy a personal computer and standard office business machines including copier, calculator and fax. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of routine to somewhat complex records and compile data and prepare reports from such records.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or

Business Administration plus one year’s experience in the field; or an equivalent combination of

training and experience which demonstrates the required skills, knowledge and abilities to

perform the job.
