COMMUNICATION TERMS
• Message – the information being communicated
• Sender – the person or persons conveying the intended message to an audience
• Receiver – the person or persons the message is intended to reach
• Feedback – the reaction or response the receiver gives to the sender after the message has been recognized
• Channels – the avenues through which messages are delivered

COMMUNICATION IN THE WORKPLACE
Communication in the sports industry, like any other workplace, is critical.
You must be able to communicate with co-workers, or members of your team, in order to get the job done
You must understand social cues to interact with co-workers
Players, coaches and management must have good communication in order to be successful as a team

RECORD LABEL PROJECTYour group will come up with a name for your record
company utilizing the names of everyone in your group. In addition, you must develop the following:
1. A motto or slogan for the organization
2. A logo (and create a small poster including both)
3. A commercial including a jingle (must turn in script)
4. A online advertisement to communicate incentives to potential clients
Each group will come to the front of the room and tell the class about their record label and perform their
commercial.
Remember, have fun, and be very creative!
