EMAIL• Electronic Mail

• A way of sending or receiving a message from somebody that may be re-written, forwarded, edited, replied or downloaded

• Is possible with the help of internet connection

• Attachments like photos or files is applicable but with a limit on the file size

• Collaborative web site

• A user may add or edit its content

• Wiki software is located on the web server

• Made possible by various site visitors

• A free and convenient encyclopedia made easily available

SOCIAL BOOKMARKING

• Sending or copying a link of a certain website or websites

• A site that you saved to be opened later

• May be sent to friends, family or anybody you want to see the same site you visited or you may be visiting

• HyperText Markup Language

• Used to create web pages and information that will be shown or opened in a web browser

• Has tags that enables the user to change the font styles, font size, insert photos, graphics, etc.

• A digital medium

• May be audio, video, PDF or ePub files

VOIP• Voice Over Internet Protocol

• Makes use of the computer, telephone, VoIP adapter, VoIP modem, cable modem and internet

• Internet is the transmission medium for incoming calls

ONLINE CHAT• Communication made possible by the internet

• Chat messages are usually short

• Enables the person involved in the discussion send and receive the messages quickly

• Online chat may be voice and video chat

• World Wide Web

• Accessed with the use of the internet

• Enable users to view web pages that may contain videos, photos, animations, text, etc.

STREAMING• Streaming Media

• Provider sends it and the end-user sees the presentation

• “To stream” is considered a delivery method of the medium

• Used as an alternative instead of downloading the specific file or media

BLOG

• Posts that are published on various blogging sites such as Tumblr, Posterous, Twitter, Xanga, Weebly, etc.

•May be multi-authored

• Allows the person to write whatever he/she wants regarding a specific topic or it may be a random thought or feeling

SOCIAL NETWORKING• A specific group made up of individuals

• Can be in workplace, universities, high schools or in whatever environment you belong

• Most popular online

• May be considered as a bridge to meet or reunite with other people, start a conversation, share files, gather information etc.

• Universal Resource Locator

• Also known as web address

• Located inside the address bar

• Used to identify network resource on the Internet
