Mistake 1

• Being too much or too little on social media• Your views matter…but be careful about what you say!• Stalking your employer (potential)• Boasting • Showing Low self esteem on social media• Think twice about what type of candidate image you’re creating

with your photo and comment choices on social media sites – particularly during a job search.

• Search yourself on google and see who you are!• Maintain a tidy profile online • Check your privacy settings often • Do NOT keep too many profiles• Know the intended use fo each social media and use it the

way it should be• Run a background check on yourself

Mistake 2

• Keep your job hunt files and personal files separate (accidents do happen!)

• Going viral for the wrong things• Understand the “new résumé” (personal brand and portfolio)• Use basic resume skills (too lengthy, too wordy, full of

technical jargons)

• Tailor the resume according to the job• Have a skills section on resume for all those JARGONS

burst • Spell check• Do not mention your responsibilities state your

achievements• Do not list team based successes• Use a clean template. do not clutter• Do not include the phrase "references available upon

request”• Do not embed tables, charts, images on resume• Align your resume with your online profile

• Make an effort to know the industry you are applying for, who are the potential employer

• Know you interviewer• Understand the pain points of the industry, prepare your

answers of key questions around it

what could make you late on the day• Choose your dress wisely create an image• Get some sleep, make sure you do not have headache on the

big day, eat some sweets before interview to keep your energy up, ease up and stretch before entering the building
