Observe the symptoms of malfunction and try DIY repairing method before calling a repairman.
Symptoms may take time todevelop and recur if the machineis not fixed the first time. Most icemakers are temperature-sensitive, and as thefreezer temperature rises and falls, this sensitivity can cause symptomsto be intermittent.
FIVE MAIN SYMPTOMS Ice cubes taste or smell bad. water supply problems.
The ice is "slabbing;" cubes are freezing together into blocks in the bin.
"Hollow" cubes. The ice cubes are "shelling," or not freezing completely before the harvest cycle tries to eject them from the mold.
The fill tube keeps filling with ice and blocking the flow of fill water.
The icemaker is not working at all, or is producing ice very slowly.

SLABBINGThis generally occurs when the ice is not ejecting from the ice mold properly. If there are cubes left in the ice mold after a harvest cycle, the new water fill will overfill the mold for the next batch.
Ice Mold Deposits
Low water pressure can also cause the valve to leak, Sometimes badlyenough to overfill or overflow the ice mold. However, this particular problem usually shows upas an ice-blocked fill tube.
