Good Things to ReportGood Things to ReportGood Things to Report At Weeks Medical Center the health of our community is our priority. Each year we work hard to enhance our services with outstanding medical professionals, technologies and facilities in order to provide the finest care available. With the help of our Board of Directors and a staff that has grown to 369 dedicated employees we have maintained a solid financial position. This allows us to serve our local communities in many ways beyond the traditional doctor/patient relationship.
In 2010 Weeks provided over $3,000,000 in free services and community programs. This assistance was essential to those in our communities who have had difficulties with medical expenses. We look forward to growing our commitment to the North Country and we thank you for your support.

hospital and coordinate communication between the medical staff and the family. Their presence and care help families endure what at first seems unendurable. The Aftercare volunteers commit as much as two years of follow-up services.
Rev. Richard Phillips, the Weeks Medical Center Chaplain and current Family Support Team Coordinator, heads-up this dedicated group who are the essence of community care at Weeks.
The Family Support Team is beginning its twelfth year. This dedicated team
of highly trained volunteers gives an incredible amount of time and compassion to their purpose: to be a “quiet presence” for families and loved ones in a time of crisis.
This important team facilitates communication between families and the medical team caring for their loved ones. This assistance allows the medical team to keep their focus solely on the patient. The team offers both in-house response and aftercare support. They perform simple tasks to keep the family comfortable while waiting in the

As a cancer patient at Weeks Medical Center, Roland Proulx brought his
laptop with him to get some work done and entertain himself during his treatments in the Oncology Department.
“I started thinking that it would be great for other patients who were there for treatments in the Oncology Department to also have access to the internet to help pass the time,” says Roland.
“I just loved the great care I was receiving from everyone at Weeks and the personal attention from the doctors and staff was fantastic. I just had to do something to help this great group
of people who were taking such good care of me.”
Roland Proulx and Carol Pomelow came up with three fund-raising events to raise money to purchase eight laptop computers that are now being used and enjoyed by patients being treated at the Oncology Department at Weeks.
Giving Back
At Weeks, an important means of acquiring new equipment and undertaking projects is
through money made available to us through gifts.
Gifts to the hospital, no matter how large or small, are sincerely appreciated. They can be in the form of contributions to the Annual Appeal, memorial gifts or bequests, and can be made in many forms—cash securities, life insurance trust or policies, real estate or other assets.
If you would like to leave a gift or bequest to Weeks Medical Center, you (and/or your financial advisor) may contact Scott Howe, Chief Executive Officer at 603-788-5030.
Checks should be made payable to Weeks Medical Center 173 Middle Street Lancaster NH 03584.
Giving Back… to Weeks
Board of Directors:
Since 1920, the Auxiliary has been dedicated to raising monies
to purchase much needed equipment for the hospital and to provide surrounding communities with educational programs and services. This year the purchases included two Transport Monitors, two Echocardiology Beds, and Small Joint Arthroplasty Equipment for the OR.
With an all time high of 82 volunteer members and 15 board members, the Auxiliary is a vital part of the Weeks Medical Center community.
The Auxiliary raised money for important equipment purchases through community events such as The Walk-A-Thon, the Annual Golf Tournament, the Giving Tree, Project Homebound, Santa’s Annual Visit, Daffodil Days, and Uniform and Book Fairs. The Annual Scholarship awarded $1,000 to Kellie Mercer to assist her towards her nursing degree.

“This past summer I had my knee replaced by Dr. Kamins and the fantastic Ortho team at Weeks Medical Center. From pre-surgery education through rehabilitation, the care was outstanding. I’ve now returned to my favorite sport of rollerblading.”
