COMMIT TO THE STRATEGY Over the years I have tried many things that didn’t work. I have started fitness and wellbeing regimes that didn’t suit my schedule and I didn’t really enjoy. I have jumped from business idea to business idea never following through on them because they took too much time, didn’t give me results fast enough and the strategy didn’t suit my personality. I tried to windsurf – too hard! I tried to be a great AFL footballer – it interrupted my social life! I left jobs - I didn’t like the boss! There came a time when I thought; ‘it’s not fair, why me?’ Why is it that nothing ever works? I then looked at all the things that I had tried and failed to see what the common thread was. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks; in every single situation the common thread was me ! The reason why I couldn’t commit to a wellbeing regime wasn’t because of inconvenience or lack of enjoyment. The reason why many of my business ideas didn’t take off wasn’t because of a bad strategy or plan. The reason why my AFL career didn’t eventuate, my windsurfing went no where and my jobs didn’t last had little to with the actual strategy to be successful. It had everything to do with my commitment to the strategy! I just didn’t stick to the strategy because I kept thinking there must be an easier way or a short cut. My attitude was that I wanted the plan, project or regime to work for me. What I have learned about success and people who have ever achieved ultimate success, in no case did they just stumble across something that worked for them. In every instance they chose a path or a strategy, they worked the strategy and stuck to it until they got the end result they were after. They did this regardless of the struggle and whether they enjoyed it or not. You already have the right strategy If you are a member of a gym and have a gym program, it will work if you commit and stick to it! If you have been to a nutritionist or naturopath and got an eating plan for yourself to be leaner and healthier it will work, but it just may take longer than you think. If you are in a business or career that seems really hard right now, it’s okay just stick to it if it is leading you to where you want to be. The point is that, in most cases, you already have the right strategy – all you need to do is to commit to that strategy for long

COMMIT TO THE STRATEGY

Over the years I have tried many things that didn’t work. I have started fitness

and wellbeing regimes that didn’t suit

my schedule and I didn’t really enjoy. I have jumped from business idea to business idea never following through

on them because they took too much

time, didn’t give me results fast enough and the strategy didn’t suit my

personality. I tried to windsurf – too

hard!

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks; in

every single situation the common thread was me!

The reason why I couldn’t commit to a wellbeing regime wasn’t because of inconvenience or lack of enjoyment. The reason why many of my business ideas didn’t take off wasn’t because of a bad strategy or plan. The reason

why my AFL career didn’t eventuate, my windsurfing went no where and my

jobs didn’t last had little to with the actual strategy to be successful. It had everything to do with my commitment to the strategy!

I just didn’t stick to the strategy because I

kept thinking there must be an easier way or a short cut. My attitude was that I wanted the plan, project or regime to work for me.

What I have learned about success and people who have ever achieved ultimate

success, in no case did they just stumble across something that worked for them. In

every instance they chose a path or a strategy, they worked the strategy and stuck

to it until they got the end result they were after. They did this regardless of the struggle and whether they enjoyed it or not.

You already have the right strategy If you are a member of a gym and have a gym program, it will work if you commit and stick to it! If you have been to a nutritionist or naturopath and

got an eating plan for yourself to be leaner and healthier it will work, but it

just may take longer than you think. If you are in a business or career that seems really hard right now, it’s okay just stick to it if it is leading you to

where you want to be. The point is that, in most cases, you already have the

right strategy – all you need to do is to commit to that strategy for long

enough to enjoy the benefits and the abundance that rewards the small percentage of people who stay the race.

If it were easy we would have done it already Let’s face it, if there were a tablet that we could take to be

lean, fit and healthy then I would take it! Wouldn’t you? If

there were get rich quick schemes that actually worked, is there any one that wouldn’t do it? If it were easy to achieve the things we wanted then wouldn’t we have

already done it? Wouldn’t we all be lean and healthy?

Wouldn’t we have all the money and all the time we wanted?

If we could just stop wishing that things were easier and stop looking for a better way and simply commit ourselves and stick to the strategy that we have then we

would have everything we wanted.

The grass is rarely greener We have all heard the saying the ‘the grass is greener on the other side’, but

do you know what I have found in my experience? I have found that is not the case at all. The grass is greenest where you are right now you just have

to commit to watering and looking after it – and it will take some time and effort.

The simple reason why the grass is

rarely greener or that another plan or strategy is rarely better is because it is not the plan or strategy that

matters. It is our thinking around

and attitude towards the strategy that matters the most. What I have found for me is that if I have a bad

attitude or negative thinking about a certain strategy or relationship and I

don’t change then I will take that same thinking and attitude into the

next and the next and the next and never succeed at anything. It will

always be something or someone else’s fault!

When I change my thinking, change my attitude and decide that, in most cases,

it really isn’t about the specific strategy it is far more about my commitment to the strategy then that it when my life changes for the better.

Look at what you are doing or trying to achieve right now, decide that you want

the results and just commit to the strategy regardless of whether it is easy or not or whether you enjoy it or not. Just keep going, the results are so worth it?
