This program is aimed at training candidates for the job of a “Commercial Vehicle Driver L-4”, in the

“Automotive” Sector/Industry and aims at building the following key competencies amongst the learner

Training Outcomes After completing this programme, participants will be able to:

• Assess road and service worthiness of vehicle: Service Manual

requirements, CMVR guidelines, highway codes Additional HSE

requirements, Pre-operational conditions, Organization structure,

Escalation procedure, pre- operational checks of equipment’s and vehicle.

• Drive safely on the assigned route including long distance trips: the

driver must be able to confirm to standard driving practices to ensure safety

of life and material, traffic and regulatory norms and dealing with people in

challenging condition. The individual should be able to attend to break

downs or malfunctioning and carry out adjustments or minor repair.

• Coordinate with Depot/ branch office: Understand duty reporting and closing procedure and ensure filling of all

required details on log register. Follow work instruction and route maps to

deliver goods in time and maintain required communication with branch

office

• Practice HSE and security related guidelines: Get well versed with health and safety measures, Individual Safety, PPE

usage, security procedures, Quick Emergency Responses, First Aid, Fire

Safety

• Work Effectively in a team: Should have Interaction and clear communication with colleagues, verbal

and non verbal information, identify problems in workingand understand

organizations policies and procedures to make it smooth.

1 Assessment to be conducted by ASDC as per competency output defined in the NOS/QP and theassessment

criteria provided in the NOS/QP

2 Assessment to be carried out by a third party Assessment Body duly affiliated to the SSC.

3 ASDC assessments will be comprehensive and cover all aspects of acquired knowledge,practicalskills and als

o basic ability to communicate. Accordingly, evaluation process would

include:

i. Theory/Knowledge test

ii. Practical demonstration test iii. Face to Face Viva

4 Theory/Knowledge assessment will be carried out on line through a link provided foreachassessmen

t that generates a random paper from a bank of questions available at the back

end.

Exception to an online test in favour of Paper Test would be subject to nonavailability of requisitebroad

band and/or hardware.

- On line test would be conducted in the presence of an ASDC assessor till web enabled

proctoringis deployed.

5 ASDC assessor would be conducting Practical and Viva as per the criteria provided in the

NOS/QP.

within a safe, systematic routine

• respond appropriately to all permanent and temporary

traffic signals, signs and road markings as well as hand

signals of traffic policeman
