CATS Commercial Advancement Training Scheme
To develop a competent workforce!
To improve succession planning!
To recruit youngsters with high
potential!
To be part of the driving force for
Namibia’s future success!
To increase chances for VET-Levy
reimbursements!
The Commercial Advancement
Training Scheme (CATS) is a two-
year programme which provides
dual education in the field of
Industrial Management.
The Dual System:
Practical: trainees are employed by
one of the CATS member
companies. They work at the
company for 4 days a week and
rotate in different functions.
Theoretical: trainees spend 1.5
days a week attending business
courses at the theoretical training
provider, currently Polytechnic of
Namibia.
This combination of theory and
practical on-the-job training ensures
immediate employability upon
graduation.

A message from the CATS Chairperson
“Our company has participated in the CATS pro-
gramme since its 2005 beginnings and we continue
to employ a large number of former CATS graduates.
After the two year training period, the programme
delivers employable junior staff who are familiar with
the training company’s values
and have the capacity to grow
to middle management level.”
