Command Leadership Training: “No Zebras, No Excuses” COs, XOs, CMDCMs, and Department Heads

This program addresses the realities of sexual assault by challenging the myths and social norms, which support it. No Zebras will focus on the in�uence of media, survivor behavior, who sexual predators are,

how they accomplish the crime, and the importance of bystander intervention.

ALL Hands: “No Zebras, No Excuses” ProductionThe goals of the program are to educate the audience to the realities of sexual aggression and to explain the importance of taking the issue more personally. Laws, attitudes, and behaviors are presented and discussed.

One of the primary goals is to address the bystander philosophy (zebra mentality). Frequently others are aware of what is going to happen and/or are in a position to stop/defuse the situation. To eliminate sexual aggression,

bystanders must notice the behavior, interpret what they are seeing, and then take purposeful action.
