SUMMER IS OVER

Well schools are starting back anyway. And the church programs are starting back. Children's Corner

The click of mechanical pencils… the snap of a composition notebook opening for the first time… finding last year’s lunch box – and realizing someone left a cutie in there – and calendars marked with teacher orientations are all indications that it is AUGUST! In the busyness there is relief, because you can finally have that normal schedule again. Get back into a rhythm of school and work and yes – church!

We are back! It was great to see most of the kids here at church this past week, and to see Sunday School rooms full and buzzing with activity. THIS SUNDAY is our Back-to-School kick-off party with K.I.C.K.S.! From 4 – 6 pm the kids will be able to hangout, play games, do crafts and learn about Jesus each Sunday evening with K.I.C.K.S. (Kids In Christ Keep Serving). We will have our parent meeting at 4:00 this Sunday. If you are unable to make it, please shoot me an email so I can make sure you have all the info! With joy,

The United Methodist Women will be hosting the Wednesday Night Supper Program. Our focus this year will be continuing

with the 150 year history of the United Methodist Women. You will have an opportunity to hear stories of UMW that have traveled to many other countries around the world and how they have made a difference. Methodist Women have made a difference then and are continuing to make a difference today.

It is crazy to think that summer vacation is finished and most schools are back in session. We have had a wonderful time in Youth this summer making memories, serving, and growing togeth-er! We are very excited for the things to come, and we are ready to get back to a regular schedule of meeting with the youth each Sun-day night. Our Fall Kick-Off is THIS Sunday, August 11th, at 4:00. We will have a brief parent meeting at 3:30 to review the calendar, sign new release forms, and answer any questions. If you have a child in 6th - 12th grade, please make it a priority to attend this informational meeting. As a reminder, we have Youth Sunday School every week at 11:00. We are currently working our way through the book of Matthew. Now is the perfect time to get back into the rhythm of being at church every Sunday morning and afternoon. We can't wait to see all the youth there!! - Tate & Ashley Welling
