Freebie Table!

If you like free stuff, be sure to visit the Freebies Tables near the Registration area in the Sails Pavilion of the Convention Center. You’ll find everything from posters, buttons, and special items to special coupons for booths in the Exhibit Hall. The items on the Freebies Tables are replenished and changed daily, so make sure you check back from time to time. Freebie table hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm today.

Pre-Registration for 2013!

Each year more and more attendees line up for Comic-Con preregistration. Currently no location is available with adequate space to accommodate all those who line up; therefore, Comic-Con 2013 preregistration will be conducted online only.Attendee badges will be available for purchase online through the EPIC registration website in August. There will be no onsite preregistration. Only those who have purchased a 2012 four-day attendee or one-day attendee badge will be eligible to participate in the August preregistration. Professionals, guests of

professionals, exhibitors (and exhibitor-purchased attendee badges), volunteers, staff, and press will not be able to participate in online preregistration in August; open online registration for these categories will occur at a later date.Those eligible for Comic-Con 2013 online preregistration will be able to purchase up to three badges. You will need a unique Member ID for each badge. Eligible 2012 attendees may purchase badges for other eligible 2012 attendees, but they will not be able to purchase badges for those who did not attend Comic-Con 2012 or for any of the ineligible categories listed above.Eligible attendees will be notified via email,

with the date, time, and link for online badge preregistration. The notification will be sent to the email associated with the Member ID account. On Friday evening at the Meet the New Geek Roundtable, Wesley Strawther proposed to his girlfriend, Amanda Marquez. Amanda and Wes are both Staff in the Programming Department. Comic-Con wishes the happy couple a long happy life together.

Masqurade Results!

Last night the 38th annual Comic-Con Masquerade, sponsored by HBO, filled Ballroom 20 and most of the overflow rooms and Sails Pavilion, totaling a viewership of 7,000. It featured 35 entries, with a total of over 80 costumes crossing the stage. Our Masters of Ceremonies were artist/writers Phil and Kaja Foglio of Studio Foglio, and our panel of judges included film, TV, and theatrical costume designer Allison Leach, theme-park show designer and former Broadway performer Diane Duncan, costume and effect designer Dragon Dronet of Hollywood’s Renegade Effects, and as workmanship judge the very experienced convention costumer Jeanne Clason. The winners were:
