REGISTRATION Go to http://csusa.hvacrtraining.net

All first time users must register for the campus. Select “Register Here” near the bottom of the landing page.

Fill out the registration information as accurately as possible. Please note the fields with the red asterisk are required fields to complete the registration. Keep your username and password handy for future use.

Under “Position within the Company” please select “Technician.” Please do not choose the other designation if not instructed to do so.

Once you have entered all of your required registration information, select “Create my new account” located at the bottom of the page.

You will be directed to the following screen. Click “Continue” to complete your registration online.

You will automatically receive two emails from the campus. The first email is a welcome email. The second email is an “Account Confirmation” email that will ask you to click on a link to confirm your new account.

Email 2: Comfort Systems USA: account confirmation Click on the link to confirm your account.

Please note this will take you to the campus but you will not yet have access to the assessments.

Within 24 hours after your self-registration into the campus, you will receive a 3rd email that will confirm your registration and access into the campus.

Once you receive the registration email below, please return back to: http://csusa.hvacrtraining.net/ and login with your new username and password you previously chose for the campus.

CAMPUS NAVIGATION When you login to the campus, you will be directed to the campus “Dashboard” page. The dashboard will display any news, program information and updates.

On the left hand navigation bar, you will find resources, tools and course information including: Program Overview, Course Catalog, Rewards Overview, How To Get Started, FAQs

If you have any questions regarding the campus functionality, courses, content issues, etc, there is a Live Support button on the left hand side navigation at the top that you may access.

This online live support allows you to ask questions through a chat functionality to our online campus experts, HVACRedu.net. If the department is online it will indicate in green, and if a specific department is offline it will indicate that in red. If a department is offline you can send them a message and they will get back to you within 24 hrs.

Customer Service (Student Services) may be contacted for any issues regarding course expiration, email doesn’t work, etc. Technical Support may be contacted if videos/modules do not play for you, website issues, computer technology, etc. Live Faculty may be contacted for any content issues or questions regarding courses. BEGIN TAKING ASSESSMENTS You will start out with access to take the Level 1 Technical Core Assessments (TCA). Assessments are pre-tests to gauge your level of knowledge about a specific subject. To begin taking assessments, click on the “LEVEL 1 TCA” under the Recent Learning tab on the Dashboard.

Each assessment is set up in the form of a quiz. To start, click on a specific assessment.

Once you are ready to start, click “Attempt quiz now”

Please note that once you start an assessment, you may only take it once and in the allotted time to complete it.

After you have completed an assessment, you will receive a grade.

Please complete all 8 Level 1 assessments. After completing all 8 assessments, you will receive two emails within 24 hrs of completion. First Email: Technical Core Assessment Results and Recommendations Level 1 (Personal Education Plan) The first email will contain a Personal Education Plan showing a summary of your grades for each assessment you took.

1. If you scored 75% or higher on an assessment, it will show that you have tested out of a course. 2. If your score on an assessment was less than a 50%, the Personal Education Plan will request that you complete the whole course. 3. If you score on an assessment 51 – 74 %, the Personal Education Plan will request that you need to take specific modules in order to pass

the course. 4. There will be a Competency Checklist coming soon that you will need to pass with your operating company champion to certify you

through Level 1. 5. If you have scored 75% or higher on all 8 Level 1 assessments, you have successfully tested out of all Level 1 courses.

Second Email: Course Welcome The second email that you will receive is a Course Welcome email containing information on the first course or module(s) that have been assigned to you according to your Personal Education Plan. The Course Welcome email will have instructions on how to access the course, your enrollment length and other necessary information on the course.

Please note that you will not have access to a course/module until you have received both the Personal Education Plan and the Course Welcome Email.

Please also note that you have 60 days to take this course in its entirety. If you would like an extension or would like to freeze your account, please contact Student Support and they can help you with that.

BEGIN A COURSE/MODULE To being a course, you will login and select the course in the recent learnings tab on the Dashboard

Once you click on the course, it will bring you to a page filled with instructions on the course, a course syllabus, welcome letter, etc. Please review before you get started.

Inside each course are various modules. These modules are labeled by topic in red. To begin taking the module, click on the orange icon.

Please note to be sure to allow pop-ups in order to view the module. If you are using a tablet or smartphone, you will have to download the Puffin Browser. See the FAQ sheet for more instructions.

Each module also has resources to help you throughout taking the course. These resources are “Reading and Terms” and “Instructional Assets.” These resources are part of the course itself and can be found as hyperlinks outside the actual module for ease of printing or you may find them within the module in the upper hand corner.

Each module has a discussion conference at the beginning of each topic. Discussion conferences allow you to ask questions to the instructor and be able to be viewed by others that are taking the same course/module as you. These questions are answered within 24 hrs by a faculty instructor or other students.

After you have completed the module, you will then take the module exam. The module exam must be completed to move on to the next module/course. Each module is 20 questions and you will have 45 minutes to complete each module exam.

To start the exam, you will click on the button label “Attempt quiz now.” Please be ready to take the exam once you click on the link. You will only have one attempt to take the exam in each module.

After completion of the exam, you will receive a summary of your grade and a chance to review the missed questions by clicking on the “Review” hyperlink.

After completion of the modules needed to complete the course, you will have access to take the Course “Final Exam”. This is a 25 question exam and you have 60 minutes to complete this exam. Please note that when you click on the link to attempt to take the exam, you will only receive one chance.

After completion of the Final Exam”, you will receive a summary of your grade and a chance to review the missed questions by clicking on the “Review” hyperlink.

COURSE CERTIFICATE After completion of the course final exam, if you have scored a 75% or higher, an icon of a certificate of completion for the course will show and be available for you to print. This certificate can be found in the last module of the course at the bottom. For NATE or BPI certified professionals, you may click on the links below to find out details on recertification.

Once you click on the certificate button from the main course, it will bring you to a summary of all of your certificates and you may then print the certificate out for the course just taken.

HANDS ON COMPETENCIES Hands On Competencies test your ability to perform the skills you learned while taking an online course. When you have completed a level of training, you will be asked to schedule a time to review with your company champion and/or a manager/supervisor the competency checklist for that specified level. The Hands On Competencies Checklists for each Level are available to you throughout each course and also found under Program Information in the campus under the dashboard.

Please note: The hands on competencies checklist must be completed to be certified in each level.

You may check the status and view your history of your Hands On Competencies under the Appraisals tab.

If your Hands On Competencies have not yet been signed off and uploaded into the campus, you will see that there is a stage yet to complete.

When you have successfully completed your Hands On Competency checklist, it is signed off my your manager/supervisor and your company champion and uploaded onto the campus, you will receive an alert on your dashboard saying Congratulations on your Level completion and now you are certified.

LEVEL CERTIFICATION After your hands on assessments have successfully been uploaded into the campus, you will officially be certified in the particular level you passed. You will awarded a formal certificate of recognition from Comfort Systems USA and extra bonus points to redeem for prizes in our Comfort Systems USA Rewards Program.

*Please note that rewards points are sent over and updated in the rewards program every Friday.

LEVEL 2 or 3 ASSESSMENTS/COURSES After you have passed all Level 1 courses or tested out of all 8 Level 1 assessments, you will then be advised to take Level 2 assessments. Once you have completed Level 2 (or 3) assessments, you will need to request to be approved to take a Level 2 (or 3) class. You may request this access in a form of a “Request a Learning Plan.” From the homepage, you will go up to the navigation bar and under the “My Learning” tab, you will click on “Learning Plans”.

At top of the homepage under my learning, you will click on “Create a learning plan”.

Select which level you are requesting access to, under plan name – add the course that you are requesting access to and fill in the dates that you would like to start and complete the course. After completion of the form, click on “Create Plan.”

A message reading “Plan creation successful” in green font will appear at the top. In the yellow bar, there will be a button named “Send approval request.” Click on “Send approval request” and it will go directly to your company champion to approve.

Your operating company champion will then receive an email and approve the request. Once the approval process is completed by the operating company champion, HVACRedu.net will send a Course Welcome email to you. You will then have access to take the course within the campus.
