Dear Friends,
It is difficult to believehow fast this year is
zooming by here atBenson’s. Like most ofyou, we have been facedwith both changes and newopportunities offered by ourcurrent world and economy.I sincerely hope that each ofus in the Benson’sfriendship circle weathersthe economicstorms facingus withcontinued hopeand optimism. We realize thatnow more thanever you wantyour heating and air systemto operate as costeffectively as possible and itis for this reason thatBenson’s continues to shareour knowledge andresources with you.
This is just one way wetry to give back to you forremaining loyal to us.
One of the mostsignificant movements everin the heating and airconditioning industry todayis the current push for us allto become moreenvironmentally sensitive.
If you have seen orheard any of our radio ortelevision commercialsrecently, you know I wouldlike you to be Green too!(I’m not talking aboutadopting everyone, butplanting a seed for you tobecome environmentallyaware when it comes toyour heating and airsystem.)
Like you, I can not goone day without readingabout Green Practices,Going Green, Green Path,Carbon Footprint and other“saving the environment”terms and concerns. Mydefinition of “Going Green”is saving and preserving ournatural resources andproducing less carbon
pollution to the best of ourability. I have alwaysthought Benson Green, andBenson’s were both goodstewards of our planet, butthe more I become educatedabout how much more I cando personally and as aheating and air conditioningcompany, I realize that mycompany and I have a longway to go.
Going Green is easy, aseasy as recycling, carpooling, turning lightsoff and yes, servicing yourair conditioning. All ofwhich save money, too! This Going Green conceptis nothing new to Benson’s,but it is a project that wework on and enhance everyworking day.
Years ago, we did notset out to reduce everyone’scarbon footprint. We justwanted to reduce utilities, improve your comfort leveland enable you to breathe
cleaner air. That turned intoa team effort of doing theright thing for our familiesand the planet. That’s right;we have been going Greenfor years just byencouraging and performingplanned service, tune-ups,and replacing energyguzzling equipment withnew environmentally
friendly equipmentthat is twice asefficient as the oldsystem.
The next timeyou hear me or seeme encourage youto be Green, you
can accept the challenge wedid to help save our planetand maybe some money, too! Remember everythingwe do adds up both good ☺and bad and I know whatthe Benson’s Family willchoose ☺.
GO GREEN!

Page 2BENSON’S ComfortLine Spring/Summer 2008
Since we rolled out our CLEAN & GREEN
Program this past January, many of ourcustomers have called me to ask, “WhatPackage is Right for Me?” The answer can befound by an evaluation of two areas. First, youmust determine your attic insulation value todayand second, how clean your indoor air is.
The best way to answer these questions is tohave one of our comfort consultants evaluateyour heating and air conditioning system, atticinsulation value, and air quality. Our consultants aretrained professionals who can perform a thorough
evaluation of your system and insulation andtemporarily install an air advice monitor in yourhome for 3 days after which time they will comeback to show you the results of your air qualitytest. After we discuss the results from your airtest and system evaluation, you will have theinformation you need that will make choosing
the right package for your family an easydecision.
Give us a call today to schedule an appointmentwith one of our professional comfort consultants andwe’ll help you make an educated decision.

Your carbon footprint is a measure of the impact you make on the planet, based on the amount ofgreenhouse gases that are generated by your activities. Here are a few ways you can decreaseyour carbon footprint:
Simple Tips for Green Living
It might help if you think ofSEER like miles per gallon foryour car. The higher theSEER, the less you spend tocool your home.
The base efficiency todayis 13 SEER. Depending onthe age and condition of yourair conditioner, your systemmight be operating at 6SEER or less. Upgrading to a13 SEER system could cutyour cooling costs in half. While 13 SEER is the baseefficiency. Higher efficiencymodels are available.
Should you upgradenow or wait?
Sooner or later you will needto replace your air conditioner. You may want to wait if your
system is less than 10 years old,in good condition, and you have
it regularly tuned up each year.If your system is older than
ten years, breaks down
frequently, hasn’t beenmaintained, your summer cooling
bills are high, or if youexperience comfortproblems (for example;some rooms are too hot orcold while others arecomfortable), you shouldconsider upgrading to amore comfortable, moreefficient, and less expensivesystem with a smallercarbon footprint.Benson’s has the rightsystem for you
Just give us a call andwe’ll help you look at thebest options for your
situation to upgrade your airconditioning system and improvethe air quality in your home.
