2. The world bank defines extreme poverty as nothaving enough income to meet the most basichuman needs such as sanitation, health care, oreducation. 3. The United States alone has a 12.6% povertylevel with 45,950 for household income United States 2.5% malnutrition Congo 71% malnutrition 4. Wall Street Journal broke a story of howAfghanistan officials were literally takingmoney from the United States Foreign Aidfund and leaving the country. Results of this is that the United States cutforeign aid to Afghanistan by 4.5 billiondollars. 5. The United States government set up threeorganizations so far to keep an eye for themisuse of foreign aid money that is supposedto be for poverty stricken areas. Making sure we could try to put an end topoverty all together would mean we wouldhave to enforce more education in the world. The schools, churches, commercials that showpoverty just isnt for third world countries butalso here in the United States. We need to get everybody on the samethinking path to help put an end to worldpoverty, so these adults, children and everyonein between can be healthier, live longer, get abetter education. 7. If the people in the state of Massachusetts gaveup a cup of coffee a day for a year the U.S.government could give 14.4 billion dollars tokeep a few children from dying of hunger. 8. Young students and their teachers can helpeven more with poverty and trying to alleviateit by joining and reading further into what it isand the damage it can cause for any countrythat has severe poverty stricken areas in it. The adults need to show the teenagers where togo to help with this sort of problem and whatsites they can visit or what type of volunteerwork can be done in their own neighborhoodto help with local families that need this kind ofassistance also. 9. There are several different ways to help withtrying to end poverty around the globe. To be part of the action you need to step up tothe plate and look into all the information youcan to help with ending poverty. Cutbacks in health, education, and other vitalsocial services around the world have resultedfrom structural adjustment policies prescribedby the International Monetary Fund(IMF) andthe World Bank as conditions for loans andrepayment.Also, in addition, developing nationgovernments are supposed to open theireconomies to compete with each other andwith more powerful and establishedindustrialized nations. 11. To attract investment, poor countries enter aspiraling race to the bottom to see who canprovide lower standards, reduced wages andcheaper resources.By this happening, it has increased poverty andinequality for most people. This also forms abackbone to what we today call globalization.As a result, it maintains the historic unequalrules of trade. 12. Overall, poverty needs to equal out and cometo an end so people have healthier lifestylesand children can get the life they deserve. The children can live healthier, happier, andhave the family life they so deserve and not ashort life that may take them to barely age 5,because of malnutrition and other reasons. 13.
