    "Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; let us acclaim the Rock of our salvation.

    Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us joyfully sing psalms to him."

    Psalm 95

    Dear Parishioners and Friends;

    With the fall season now well underway, lots of new activities and events are starting.

    Last Sunday evening we gathered in church with 40 young candidates and parents for the new two year diocesan program for the Sacrament of Confirmation. And now, this Sunday, at the 9:00am mass, we will have an opportunity to see and pray for our First Reconciliation children as they enroll and begin the process of preparation. My gratitude is expressed to Anita Wagner, Marie Marton and our volunteer parents for their help!

    New: On the First Sunday of the month at the 9:00 am mass, we will offer a children/family themed homily that is focused on how we can better make our homes, hearts, and community a dwelling place for Jesus. There will be opportunity for participation, reflection, questions, and dialogue as we celebrate Mass and the Holy Eucharist.

    May God bless you this week, Fr. Gonyo

    St. Rita School

    Spirit of Learning Corner

    + St. Rita School provides a learning experience that far exceeds New York State Standards through Faith, Academic, and Art based programs. One of our Academic programs is PASSPORT CLUB. It is an individualized, sequential, yearlong program, designed to enhance the current social studies curriculum and get students excited about geography. Students learn to locate the world's countries, as well as other major geographic locations. We issue Passports to students at the start of the school year. The Passport book holds the passage stamps each student earns. Wednesday and Friday were check days!

    + One way our students practice their faith is by reaching out to the community and world through service projects. Thursday marked the end of our first service project of the year ~ the CASA BACKPACK project.

    Students collected backpacks and supplies for children who are living in foster care. They stuffed these new backpacks with many items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, underwear, socks, and t-shirts.

    + On Saturday, our annual Marathon was fun event as always! It was great to see so many alumnae! Can you believe this was our 30th St. Rita School MARATHON? Thank you to all who sponsored and supported us!
