Activities➢ Activitieswill depend on the cost, age restrictions and availability.➢ Mix of day visits and adventurous activities.➢ Activities may be guided or unguided.➢ All activities undertaken will be governed by Scout Association

Activities – Oeschinensee➢ The classic KISC day!

➢ You will walk up into Kanderstegand take the gondola to Oeschinensee.

➢ Swim in the lake.

➢ Have 5 runs on the summer sledge run (over 700m long!).

➢ A restaurant and shop will be open at the lake.

➢ Then hike down to Kandersteg and back to camp.

Swiss National

Day➢ Every year on the 1st of August, people across Switzerland celebrate the

country's National Day. Also on the same day, in the year 1907, several boys came together with Robert Baden-Powell to begin the world's first scout camp on Brownsea Island in England.

➢ Here at KISC, we celebrate both of these events on August 1st! Our guests and staff from around the world come together for a really special day, full of international fun, friendship and adventure!➢ We will begin the day with everyone joining together for breakfast on the campsite;

➢ Drop-in activities that will be on offer around the Scout Centre and the Village.

➢ Carnival.

➢ The day will culminate with a Scout parade through the streets of Kandersteg after a short ceremony in front of the historic Chalet.

Activities – Bern➢ Explore the capital city of

Switzerland. The Scouts will have a chance to visit attractions such as the parliament, the famous clock tower, Einstein’s home, the famous bears, the Art museum and the shopping arcades.

➢ On return from Bern we will stop off at the swimming pool in Kandersteg.

Activities – Niesenbahn

➢ Niesen Funicular Railway takes from Muhlenen at 393m to NiesenKulm at 2,336m.

➢ Spectacular views of the Alps from the viewing platform at 2,362m.

➢ 3,499m ascent. Steepest gradient at 69%.

Overnight Activities - Option 1Hike & Hut – Berghotel Schwarenbach

➢ A short walk to the cable car station, then cable car to Sunnbuel.

➢ Then walk on the Wanderweg to Berghotel Schwarenbach.

➢ Stay overnight and then walk back to Kandersteg in the morning.

➢ Evening meal and breakfast included at the hotel.

➢ Accommodation is in dormitories.

➢ No Age Restriction.

Overnight Activities - Option 2Hike & Hut – Hotel Steinboch

➢ Walk up the Gastern Valley – one of the most beautiful alpine valleys in Switzerland.

➢ Stay overnight at Hotel Steinbochand then walk back to Kandersteg in the morning.

➢ Evening meal and breakfast included at the hotel.

➢ Accommodation is in dormitories.

➢ No Age Restriction.

Overnight Activities - Option 3Three Valleys Hike ‘n’ Climb

➢ Spend the first day hiking and rock climbing in the Ueschinen valley, before relaxing and enjoying the views from the Ueschinen Hut where you stay overnight.

➢ You cook your own evening meal and breakfast….and for the guide too!!

➢ The second day the staff guide will lead you on the Three Valleys Hike back to Kandersteg.

➢ Maximum Group size: 12

➢ Minimum Age: 14

Overnight Activities - Option 4Gfellalp Hut Hike ‘n’ Climb

➢ This activity offers an introduction to climbing at our newest climbing area, near our mountain hut Gfellalp. Hike up to Gfellalp in the morning, and then spend the afternoon rock climbing above the hut, returning to the hut for dinner and to enjoy the spectacular view. You will then gently hike back the following morning through the Gastern Valley to Kandersteg.

➢ You cook your own evening meal and breakfast….and for the guide too!!

➢ Maximum Group size: 12

Adelboden Activities - Option 1Trotti Bikes

➢ Spend the day zooming around the mountains above Adelboden on Trotti Bikes - scooters equipped with mountain bike brakes and tyres. The ski lift network takes care of the uphill, so you can enjoy the downhill!

➢ Lift pass, trotti bike rental and CHF 20 voucher for the Silleren mountain restaurant included.

➢ Whole day activity.

➢ Maximum Group size: 50

➢ No Age Restriction.

Adelboden Activities - Option 2Adventure Park

➢ Swing through the air like Tarzan, feel the adrenalin rush as you race through the air on a zip wire high above the river and lose touch with solid ground as you negotiate the rope bridge.

➢ Half day activity.

➢ Spend the rest of the day in the village of Adelboden.

➢ Maximum Group size: 50

➢ No Age Restriction.

Adelboden Activities - Option 3Chäligang Via Ferrata

➢ This more gentle via ferrata in Adelboden is a perfect introduction to this uniquely alpine activity. Climb and scramble up this mountain climbing route in the shadow of the roaring Engstligen Falls, which leads up to Engstligenalp. Includes all safety equipment and instruction from a Swiss Mountain Guide.

➢ Half day activity.

➢ Spend the rest of the day in the village of Adelboden.

➢ Maximum Group Size: 10 (per group)

➢ No Age Restriction.

Option 4Adelboden Adventure Combo

➢ This package combines the exciting Adventure Park in Adelboden with the Chäligang Via-Ferrata.

➢ Full day activity.

➢ Maximum Group size: 50

➢ No Age Restriction.

The Centre offers several different awards that you can work towards during your time here. You do not have to do them, but they offer a useful way of making sure that you and your group can do lots of activities while here and will experience all parts of the Centre.

Comms on Camp➢ In-Touch process for any issues

➢ We will be uploading a diary each day to the facebook page – time & connection permitting!

Catering➢ Full Board. All meals are prepared by

the resident catering team. They provide a nutritious balanced diet which is carefully planned to restore energy used during the day’s activities.

➢ Breakfast and evening meals are taken on site and packed lunches are provided daily - so don’t forget to bring lunch boxes and water bottles!

➢ Let us know of any dietary needs, allergies etc
