Educator Preparation Program Council Charge
To serve as the advising body to oversee Columbus State University Educator Preparation Programs as well as the program assessments. The Council will provide feedback and recommendations on program methods that enhance teacher candidate and in-service teacher knowledge, skills, and dispositions.

Spring Council Meeting Minutes
I. Call to order
The Council Chair, Dr. Sallie Averitt Miller called to order the meeting of the Educator Preparation Program Council (EPPC) at 11:35 a.m., March 16, 2010, in the Magnolia Room, Turner Center.
II. Council Sign-in
The following members were present: Kelly Cavanaugh, Jeannie Cole, Shelly Edwards, Debbie Gober, Jan Grogan, Roger Hatcher, Tim Howard, Melissa Hunt, Helen Johnson, Meredith King, Inessa Levi, Connie McCorkle, Michael Mangum, Alice Pate, Sean Powell, David Rock, Kim Shaw, Diana Stout, Claudia Williams, Angie Zanders, and Sallie Miller.
III. Meeting Overview
The meeting purpose was to provide council members with state, university, unit, and program updates. The updates included information from the Office of the Provost, College of Education and Health Professions Office of the Dean, College of Education and Health Professions Director of Unit and Program Assessment, and Educator Preparation Updates / Chair, Department Teacher Education.
In addition to the preceding updates Council members were asked to review the Educator Preparation Conceptual Framework and make recommendations. This document is available at http://coe.colstate.edu/EPPC%20Cover.asp. The Council will vote on the approval of this document during the Fall 2010 meeting. Council members did vote on the approval of the revised Master of Arts in Teaching Admission Requirements. Ballots were collected and counted. Out of the 16 voting members who were present, 87.5% voted to approve the revised admission requirements. Notes: Two members were present during the vote, but did not
cast a ballot. One member left the meeting before voting.

�2009 – 2010 Online COE Fact Book is designed to report both unit and program data. This format should assist in predicting student / program success. Models of Appropriate Practice and Dispositions were briefly discussed and Council members were encouraged to view these evaluation instruments on the Teacher Education website.

� Grant activity and faculty research are substantial in the COEHP. Release time and other assistance for research faculty are being investigated. NCATE, PSC, and SPA COEHP Centers and Outreach

�Educator Preparation Updates included the Educator Preparation Conceptual Framework and admission revisions to the Masters of Arts in Teaching. Council members voted on the approval of the admission revisions to the Masters of Arts in Teaching—87.5% of the voting members present voted in favor of the revisions. Council members will vote on the approval of the Conceptual Framework Fall 2010.
