Halloween, Feria de Cali, people’s 15th birthday and the “alumbrado” are the most typical traditions. The Christmas is more beautiful because they have a different way to celebrate.

Halloween: The party is celebrated just like in the United States

Feria de Cali: Most people go to the “Feria de Cali”. At that festival some famous artists play music for five days.

People`s 15th birthday: at this party teenagers became women. It’s like a wedding in Spain.

Alumbrado: It is at the beginning of Christmas. At the “alumbrado” people make flashlights with paper.

The most popular food in Colombia are the: Arepa, Sancocho, Bandeja paisa and Mazamorra. The rice is also very important in their diet because they eat it with all food. Instead of eating bread, as we do, they eat rice. Coffee is also very popular. Colombian Coffee is not as strong as Spanish coffee.

Arepa: It is made from corn. Arepa has a circular form and you can fill it with meat or what you want.

Sancocho: It is a stew with many vegetables.

Bandeja paisa: It is a tray that has: beans, rice, ground beef, pork cracklings, egg, chorizo, arepa, blood sausage, tomato, and avocado.

Mazamorra: The mazamorra is simply corn very well cooked and you can mix it with milk and sugar.

The people from Colombia are very well known for their way of dancing. The most popular dances in Colombia are: Salsa, Cumbia, Vallenato and Reggaeton.
