College of Health Science and Public Health Health Services Administration BA 100 Major credits, 20 minor credits in HSAD Internship The Health Services Administration Program is offered by the College of Health Science and Public Health and is certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB). This interdisciplinary program is designed for students interested in a variety of careers in the field of health services administration. Now offered also is a Long Term Care option providing students with increased opportunity of employment. The culmination of the student's experience in the program will be an internship in a health care setting. Students learn the day-to-day operation of a health care organization and will spend 20 hours per week working under direct supervision of the site instructor.The internship will focus on communication and relationship management, leadership, knowledge of the healthcare environment, professionalism, and business skills and knowledge. Practicum for the Long Term Care Option is 1,000 hours.
