AGENDA
Activate MSU NetID and email• The first step to secure your place in the incoming class is to log in to your account to
locate your student ID (APID 8 digit number) and receive your Personal Access Number (PAN, 4 digit number)), https://netid.msu.edu/student/index.html
• Once you have your APID and PAN, you can now activate your MSU NetID, and email account online. Create a password.
• You can submit your Advanced Enrollment Deposit once you have activated your MSU NetID and email account. The deposit is refundable and your deadline for paying the AED is by May 1. If you wish to cancel your application in your account by clicking the “cancel application” by April 30. Your refund will be automatically processed.
• Register for your New Student Orientation (www.orientation.msu.edu) and Family Orientation (www.orientation.msu.edu/programs/family/) programs are offered between June 15, 2020 – July 22, 2020. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!
• Two days and includes an overnight stay. • Limited one day orientation for students who will not live on campus, or require
accommodations which make the overnight prohibitive to their orientation.
Prepare to enrollAfter you have reserved your place, you must prepare for enrollment by completing items that pertain to your specific admission situation.
Required• Placement exams (Math: Placement score of 19 or higher = Calculus I)
• One hour exam• Without using calculators, books or any other reference books• Without the help of another person.• DO NOT GUESS YOUR ANSWERS• CAN retake after a four-week waiting period even for a third time.• Practice first on format sample version on Math Placement Service Exam
• Immunization forms• Photo submission deadlines and upload my photo – submit online at least three days prior
to your orientation date.
Optional• Foreign Language Placement (French, German, and Spanish)• Financial aid (FAFSA available on October 1)• Registering with disability services
Apply for housingAll freshmen must reside on campus during their first year at MSU
After you submitted your AED, you will complete your housing contract, and select your preferences and meal plan by May 1, no later.
To request a roommate, follow the directions on the housing contract.
Once you complete your housing contract, you will receive information from Residence Education and Housing Services (REHS) regarding the housing assignment process, https://liveon.msu.edu/NewResidents

AP equivalencies, IB equivalencies, AND Dual Enrollment Credits
AP scores from your freshmen, sophomore, and junior year –contact the College Board and have them send your AP scores to MSU ASAP!

• Located primarily in Snyder-Phillips Halls, park in Lot 89 (at the intersection of Farm Lane, and Mt. Hope Rd), and take a free shuttle.
• June 15 – July 22, 2020• First day arrival time is no later than 9 a.m. Program concludes at 5 p.m.
on day two.• General College of Engineering welcome• Engineering Advisor Presentations – specific requirements for
engineering students, technical, and elective courses.• Time slot given for course enrollment• Lunch• Meet with an individual adviser for annual enrollment.• Go up to a computer lab to register for courses
