Last Sunday, March 22nd Scripture: Jeremiah 29:1,4-14 For I

know the plans I have for you, says the

Lord.

Sermon: “Life in Exile” There are things

in the Bible that are relevant to our

current situation. God has sent people

into exile before but He was with them.

We have taken lots of things for granted

before this exile we are under, like

attending church and worshipping God.

God says He is our hope and our

deliverance and if we seek Him, He will

bring us out of exile even better than

before!

Our weekly Thursday Bible Studies will be online for the time being using Zoom Cloud Meetings software. You can access the Bible Study through your laptop, smartphone or Kindle. For your laptop, go to: https://www.zoom.us/download and download the Zoom software. It’s free and you don’t have to set up an account. If you’re planning on using your smartphone, search for ZOOM Cloud Meetings in your App store. Kindle users can find the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app in the Amazon App store. Pastor Bob will be sending out a Meeting ID code before Thursday, which you will need to enter into your software to watch/listen to the Bible Study. The sessions will be at noon and 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Our church service last week was

great and really shows the

perseverance of our Christian faith!

Thanks to Pastor Bob & Tommy

Atwood for leading the service. Big

thanks to our socially distanced

orchestra (Amber Warner, Jackie

Winton, Calvin McCutchan & Cathy

Atwood) and to our technical crew

Thomas King & Vickie Reed. Tune in

again this Sunday at the College

Mound United Methodist Church

Facebook page at 11 a.m.!

Destiny Arredondo reported that

Aurora recently started learning on ABC

Mouse and has surpassed 3 levels in just

a few days. Here she is, taking a self-

guided assessment. She is learning at

the 4-5 yr. old range! Chase & Destiny

are very proud of her, as are

grandparents Felipe & Susie Arredondo!

The doctor told Frank Rasor he couldn’t

drive his truck for two weeks…but he

didn’t say anything about driving a

mower!

I bought new pans just before the "quarantine"

started and I now have boxes of old pans for the

rummage sale. Which started me on looking thru

more of my kitchen. And then I thought about my

closet and bathroom and garage...Will it ever end?

Overwhelmed,

Donna Reynolds

Danny has been contacting & picking up

groceries for older people and neighbors

in our area. I have been working at home

and it is taking so much longer because of

the internet but I spend most of the time

on the computer – Kitty Brin

Dessie Samuels used her time to put up

wire mesh on her house lattice to keep the

critters (skunks) out!

From Marilyn Harris: We’re staying busy. Planting

flowers & vegetable gardens. I’m also getting

ready to paint our big bathroom. Playing games

with friends we know are safe.

Mike Gheen & Judy Eppler made a trip to

Destin, Florida and came back through New

Orleans for some great food!

Here’s Woody Bishop’s report:

I've been working from home and in the

office on a rotating MWF/Tu-Th schedule

due to office remodeling for about four

months. Currently, I'm on my third week

working from home every day. My commute

is 20 feet to the laptop in the kitchen

instead of 47 miles into Arlington.

I think there is a light at the end of this

tunnel. I got an e-mail today from the

tournament chairman for marshals for the

Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial

Country Club in Fort Worth. They are

currently still on schedule to play golf on

May 18-24. They said that the PGA Golf

Tour is anticipating restarting the golf

tournament schedule with Fort Worth. The

USGA has not given any indication of

postponing or cancelling the US Women's

Open Golf Tournament in Houston on June

4-7.

Besides gardening

and yard work,

Becca Rasor (with

help from friends)

installed a new pet

door and painted

her garage entry a

bright red!

I am spending a lot of time outside when the

weather is pretty. I have always enjoyed

yard work. Probably be sore because I'm

using muscles I haven't used in a

while. Julie & Joni are keeping up with their

workouts. The track they used is

locked. They measured what a mile would

be at the cemetery. They do their workout

there 3 or 4 times a week. They say it's

very peaceful. Mama is staying busy on

paperwork, watching Hallmark movies,

sitting on her porch watching the beautiful

birds, and visiting with people on the phone.

- Vivienne Flowers

I’ve made masks out of cute material for

Dona Elder to wear over her required mask.

My cousin sent me a you tube video with

directions. Takes 10 min. Also, starting

some Christmas Runners for the auction &

for Christmas gifts. Decided to keep the

sewing machine up and going each

day. Cleaning closets! – Jackie Winton

While quarantined, for my personal

time just cleaning out, enjoying

beautiful life around me. As for

helping out during the self quarantine,

I reach out to two people each day.

The elderly are first and then I will

shout out to personal friends second.

Simple but very affective considering

what we’re all going through.
