The masthead and cover lines are both written in a simple font. This means that although the font isn’t very interesting it can be read quickly, easily and from some distance.

The aren’t many colours in the background detail of the cover so the red of the masthead stands out. This means people will be able to distinguish the magazine easily.

This magazine may appeal to students as it has a grown up feel to it. However, personally I don’t feel that it is very appealing as there’s nothing eye catching about it and it looks like a supermarket magazine.

There are bright colours on the magazine - these make the magazine eye catching and interesting.

There is a scrapbook feel to the magazine which makes it more appealing to students. It is different to a normal magazine cover and this makes it stand out.

The cover doesn’t have a clear masthead or other aspects which you would expect to find on a magazine, whilst this adds to the appeal of the magazine it doesn’t make it easily recognisable.

The photograph on this cover has a fun feel to it and as the people featured are of various races it emphasises the title ‘international student magazine’

The colours contrast to the fun photo because they’re fairly dull. Although there is a corner of the magazine that’s brightly coloured it isn’t eye catching and doesn’t make the magazine appealing.

There are no pull quotes from articles so it doesn’t give you any idea of the type of articles you would find in the magazine however from the colour and style of the cover you can tell that they’re probably all academic based rather than articles about student life.

I love the style of this cover. It’s interesting, eye catching and I think it really appeals to students.

The cover features a masthead and has some description of the articles inside the magazine – whilst these aren’t very clear and you can’t tell a great deal from them you can assume that the articles are not only academic but are about student life as well due to the fun nature of the cover.
