DEGREE PROGRAMS The UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources offers a sub-professional course, a course in the baccalaureate level, two master's degree programs and a doctor of philosophy program: 1. Certificate in Forestry is a two-year non-degree program which offers a complete, responsive and relevant curricular model that addresses the needs of the forestry sector. It emphasizes the basic technical skills required for the production of graduates capable of assisting professional foresters in the implementation of regulatory and developmental functions of the profession. 2. The Bachelor of Science in Forestry degree is a four-year curricular program that provides the students with a strong background in the various aspects of forestry. The degree offers six fields of specialization from which undergraduate forestry students can choose in their third year: Forest and Environmental Resources Management, Forest Biological Sciences, Silviculture and Agroforestry, Social Forestry, Forest Products and Forest and Natural Resources Governance. As a requirement to finish the degree, any majoring student can either opt to work on an undergraduate thesis or to undergo the forestry summer practicum. OBJECTIVES

The goals of the College revolve around its three-foldfunction of instruction, research and extension. These aretranslated into the following objectives:

1. to train people in the proper management,conservation, and utilization of the country’s forestresources in order to meet the demand of high-quality human resource in forestry and environmentalconcerns;

2. to conduct researches to support national thrustsin forestry and environment;

The UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resourcesoffers a sub-professional course, a course in the baccalaureatelevel, two master's degree programs and a doctor of philosophyprogram:
