Request these early (at least 2 weeks)

Think hard about who is being asked

Read all information the college sends carefully & WATCH DEADLINES!

Send tuition/housing deposit(s)

Accept or decline financial aid offer

Sign up for orientation

Choose housing and meal plan

Arrange to have final transcript sent (Naviance!)

Prepare for placement exam (TSI or other similar tests for out of state schools)

Pay as you go:

Federal Subsidized Stafford Loans and Federal Perkins Loans are based on financial need.

Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loans and Federal Parent Loans are available regardless of need.

LOANS MUST BE REPAID!

Financial Aid is money from the government, the school, and private resources that assist a family in paying for education.

FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid Advisable to fill this out regardless of how you will be paying for college.

Will open October 1st this year – fill it out soon, if you can!

Will need to be filled out each year to continue receiving aid

Grants received from FAFSA do not have to be repaid!!! Two Common Grants – both need based (with priority to early applicants)
