Be loved.

At Up Country we are committed to giving back to the community,

both in our backyard and far afield. As a small company with a Made

in the USA mantra, it’s natural for us to have a grass roots approach

to giving. We support animal rescues country-wide, organize an

Earth Day neighborhood clean up and during the holidays we donate

to organizations such as Doctors without Borders, UNICEF and

Journeys Within Our Community to name a few. There is even a well

in Cambodia with our name on it!

Be caring.In 2015 we formed a partnership with the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

to donate a portion of the website sales from our popular Leader of

the Pach collars and leashes. This wonderful organization is the most

successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world.

Giving is a part of our culture at Up Country, it’s what we do and who

Bumble

Bumble comes to us all the way

from a roadside in Arkansas,

where he was found in a box

along with his sister. He was

afraid of cars and loud noises

at first, but he has outgrown

these fears at his new home.

Bumble’s makeup is mostly

Beagle so he will fetch as long

as you can throw the ball. But

a little Hound comes out when

he sings (or howls) along to

Dirks Bentley. Bumble barks at

absolutely everything, except

when he wants to go out. Then

he stares you down until you

stop whatever you are doing

and take him for a walk. (Good

plan Bumble!) Burying bones,

sleeping under the covers at

night and his Pop-Pop are

Bumble’s trifecta of favorite

things in the world. Oh, and

his family also includes a whole

lot of bees, which was the

inspiration for his name!

Rudy

It’s no coincidence that Rudy,

originally called Sweet Pea,

now shares his name with the

inspirational Notre Dame football

player who overcame despair to

achieve the greatest success. He

was given up by a woman who,

down on her luck and homeless,

was devoted to him through

thick and thin. But Rudy’s cancer

diagnosis and subsequent

amputation were too hard for

her to handle, and he came to

live at the RISPCA, post surgery.

A volunteer at the shelter got to

know Rudy and understanding

that he might not live out the

year, decided to adopt him,

taking it one day at a time.

“Rudy has brought so much joy,

laughter and purpose into our

lives. We absolutely adore him.

He has honestly rescued us and

made our family complete.”

And the best news is that Rudy

is beating the odds, and continues

to be cancer free!

RoxyRoxy’s adoption is all about

heart! She was rescued from

a Louisiana kill shelter and

brought to our friends at the

RISPCA suffering from heart-

worm. When Roxy’s future

family visited the shelter, they

fell in love with this cute little

girl. While heartworm might

be a problem for some families,

this family took it as a sign that

she was meant for them. You

see, Roxy’s human brother Blake

also has heart issues, so heart-

worm was no big deal. Now the

two BFF’s share similar medical

routines, their daily dose of

medicine and yearly visits to

the doctor. Roxy’s appreciation

for her new family and life is

expressed by her need to

constantly be “in touch” with

her family whether in the car

with her head on Mom’s shoulder

or just making sure her paw is

on one of her humans at all

times. Her loving touch and

heart, are the perfect fit for

her new family.

Lola is a snuggle of a

Puggle that loves long walks,

lots of belly rubs and treats!

Lola’s new family, wasn’t

looking for a Puggle, but

one look into those adorable

Puggle eyes, and the deal

was sealed! She’s an energetic

little pup, and keeps her

family on their toes with

early morning pre-school

escapes, bed jumping and

other naughty antics. But

her big eyes and even

bigger heart, make her

a much loved new family

Ziggy

You never know what you’ll see

when you turn on the evening

news, it might just be your new

best friend! In Pam’s case, it was

Ziggy, featured on a local TV

station that helps the RISPCA

promote adoption each week.

Pam went straight down to

adopt Ziggy the next morning.

He had been surrendered by a

breeder at 4 months, so Ziggy

was a diamond in the rough,

with no training at all and little

socialization. But he’s adapted

well, and even won over the cats

with his sweet demeanor. Now

he loves his walks with BFF

Casey, has a box full of toys and

never has a bad day. He is also

susceptible to “Chin Spins” a

quirky habit where he runs in

circles when he's really happy

and excited. Which, we can

imagine, is a lot!

Lotus

Lotus was adopted to fill an

empty nest that is still full of

love! She had been left at the

shelter when her owner could

not care for her while battling

cancer. Lotus and new mom

Susan quickly fell into a daily

routine. First, a morning sofa

snuggle with mom while watching

the news. Next, the first of 3

daily walks and breakfast. This

is immediately followed by a

belly rub and maybe a TV pet

show, Lotus’s favorite! Greeting

visitors with her adorable snorts

and grunts and running errands,

rounds out each day. Bedtime

finds Lotus, AKA “My Little

Shadow” snuggled up next

to mom. Unconditional love

flows both ways with this

perfect match!

ChantelChantel spent time at two

shelters in Rhode Island before

finding the family of her dreams.

The stress of being in the shelter

caused severe stomach problems

and an infection that had to be

treated several times. Both

shelters worked together to get

Chantel into the place best

for her. Now, Chantel has been

adopted into a family of seven,

and even has a rescue dog sister!

Her absolute favorite place in

the house is her new comfy bed

(us too Chantel!) and when she’s

not lounging she enjoys taking

car rides, travelling with her

fun-loving family and playing on

the beach. It sounds like it was

worth the wait!

Nixie was found wandering the

streets, an unclaimed stray with

no home. Understandably her

transition was a bit tough at

first. It took a few weeks for

Nixie to get used to being

spoiled rotten, having a warm

comfy home and being part

of a loving family. (Sign us up!)

But she’s caught on fast. Now

she enjoys her walks, car rides

and glamping in the family RV.

Nixie even entertains herself by

picking up and throwing her

toys and bones herself and then

fetching them again and again.

Her gorgeous coat is the envy

of the neighborhood, and new

mom Shelley came to our photo

shoot armed with a towel, blow

dryer and brush to keep it that

way. From homeless to Diva in

a few short months!

Tito and Jeter are father and son Boxers that were brought

to the RISPCA when their owner couldn’t take care of them

anymore. Many people were interested in adopting Tito, but

no one wanted Jeter who is 10 years old. Jeter was even

offered as a “free” adoption so he and Tito could stay

together during his last years. Enter a family with a heart

(and house) big enough for these two love-bugs. Tito and

Jeter settled right into their new home that includes a human

and a Labrador brother. They felt so comfy that Tito’s first

stop was the bathroom for a drink and Jeter

“christened” the kitchen floor. Their new

family says it’s the best decision they

ever made. We think they’ve got the

biggest hearts we’ve ever seen!

FoxFox was surrendered to the

shelter because his owners could

not care for him and treat his

health problems, which included

eye abscesses and poor teeth.

He was shy at first meeting, but

that was quickly replaced by a

fierce love of his clan. He now

enjoys his curious cat siblings,

and knows to be gentle with

Grandma who lives with the

family. Fox petered out on his

first few outdoor walks, but now

frolics outside and eagerly runs

on his neighborhood jaunts. His

complete recovery and happy

new life have made a new dog

of Fox! As new mom Ann says,

being brushed, cat food and his

stuffed Yoda toy. But mostly he
