The RCIA, which stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a process through which non-baptized men and women enter the Catholic Church. It includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rituals at Mass. Participants

undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, learn the truths taught by the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

The RCIA process follows the ancient practice of the Church which was restored by the Second Vatican Council as the normal way adults prepare for entrance into the Church. In 1974, the Rite for Christian Initiation for Adults was formally approved for use in the United States.

Labor Day marks our calendars with new beginnings.

Schools, colleges, parishes, enter a new year of activi-

ties. And every day, we will be invited to gather to Listen

to the Word of God, and act on it. Doing it, will bring us

life and wisdom. As doers of the Word we must put into

practice every lesson we learn, and to make it possible

for the Kingdom to grow up in our midst.

Ours must be a worship which is different from that of

the one practiced by the Scribes and Pharisee. Our

Worship of God is not mere lip-service. Listening to the

Word of God and truly taking it to heart, is demonstrated

in our deeds. Good wishes do not accomplish the task

of building up the Kingdom of God! As we draw close to

Jesus through our daily reading of His Word, may we

truly listen to be able to discern His will in our lives.

Let’s pray for each other and may all of us listen to His

word and put it into practice.

But hey, we can exercise that with those around us as

well. To listen attentively, to do good, and be like those

who re-commit themselves to the Covenant. “As for

myself and my household, we will serve the Lord”.

As we move from summer to autumn, we praise God

who sustains us all year round. We ask for help with

new undertakings and perseverance with continuing

projects, knowing that nothing will work well without

God’s grace.

That has happened in San Felipe with the collaboration

of many of Saint Peter Parishioners. This coming Sun-

day, September 9th, will be San Felipe’s Parish Festival.

There will be the Blessing of the renovated Kitchen, a

project that was directed by Pat Burroughs, which will

be a source of many blessings for all. As well, we will

get the renovated bathrooms in service, a project lead

by the Knights of Columbus St. Peter’s Council.

Thanks to all of you for your dedication and service.

May the Good Lord, bless your days with all the bless-

ings you need.

In God’s Love,

Fr. Fabio

Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast

Next Sunday 8am - 12:30pm

Come join us for breakfast and fellowship in the parish hall. Adults $6, Children $3. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and beverages are served.

Little Free Book Fair Sunday, September 16 from 9a to 2p

Isaac Fifelski, one of our high school parishioners, would like your help in earning his Eagle Scout Award. He is a very in-volved member of our parish community by being an altar server, lector, usher, and oc-casionally playing his French horn during

Mass. He is in Boy Scout Troop 33 out of Hamilton, and would like to achieve the Eagle Scout Rank by complet-ing a final project. Since Isaac loves the St. Peter Family and appreciates the Catholic ideals of service to God and our community, he has chosen to complete his pro-ject here.

First, there will be a Little Free Book Fair on Sunday, September 16 from 9:00am until 2:00pm where you can come and take books you would like to read. The cost is donations only.

Second, is the construction of a Little Free Library, which is a small library where anyone can take or leave religious books at any time. This Library will be located outside of the main entrance of the Church by mid October.

Isaac is excited about his Eagle Project, but needs your help to make it a reality. If you have any books that are gently used or new, please bring them to St. Peter and drop them off at the Church or school buildings.

Donations will be accepted through September 15.

If you don’t have any books but would still like to help, there is a box for monetary donations. Any donation, book or money, helps greatly. Isaac would like to thank you for helping in any way you can.

Rosary Coast-to-Coast In 2017, the Church in Poland gathered around the borders of their country to light a spiritual flame, a flame that quickly engulfed the nation in prayer and reparation. Shortly af-

ter, the sparks from this conflagration of the Holy Spirit spread, to Ireland, the British Isles and now, the United States. This is a WORLD WIDE EFFORT to combat the Powers of Darkness—the Powers that seek to stifle the Light.

The Rosary will be prayed across the nation on October 7th at 4PM ET

General meeting to be held on Thursday, September 13th in the Vatican Room at 7PM for anyone who is inter-ested in helping with this event.

P. Fabio
