Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) Program DirectorAs the Program Director, led the successful implementation of Oracle's ‘Product Life-cycle Management’ (PLM) tool for Product Collaboration and Quality Management. ● Led the application portion of the Production Data Center migration from Northridge, CA to Las Vegas, NV. As a result Pharmavites Production Data Center is no longer in the flight path to Van Nuys airport, next to a railway line or in an earthquake zone. This effort also realized cost savings of three million dollars per year for the last two years● Implemented a Business Intelligence (BI) solution using legacy applications in order to meet critical business needs.● Instituted a comprehensive System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and supporting artifacts● Put into practise an Enterprise Data Governance Program and a Project Management Office (PMO)● Established an Architecture Review Board (ARB) to define and oversee the creation of Architectural standards and ensure alignment with corporate strategy

JD Powers and Associates - Westlake Village, CA June 2006 - Sept 2011JD Power and Associates is a US-based marketing information services company that conducts surveys of product and service quality, customer satisfaction, and buyer behavior.

Senior Director Database Engineering and Management

Director of Database Engineering and Management for Power Information Networks (PIN) a subdivision of JD Power and Associates (JDPA) with a revenue of $30 plus million per year. Responsible for managing a departmental budget of four million dollars with over thirty FTEs and consultants.

● Architected product development and enhancements for JDPAs BI Product that had 100% market penetration.● Led the development of new and enhanced functionality for the BI Products which allowed the Sales team to increase revenue 6% in 2008 - 2009 while maintaining the customer base, at a time when company revenues fell 30%. ● Managed a team of up to thirty DBA’s, ETL developers and programmers in the support and development of JDPA business applications● Directed a large scale commercial BI operation while supporting ancillary consultancy projects ● Created corporate procedures that allowed for efficient development, while ensuring appropriate SDLC procedures were followed. ● Migrated the development environment to the Amazon EC2 cloud saving $600,000 for JD Power Utilizing IaaS and PaaS depending on financial drivers and time to market considerations. ● Led the development of an Integrated Analytical Environment (IAE) for BI processing of Research Studies and integrated it with salesforce.com using SaaS solution● Instituted and enforced enterprise standards and defined project artifacts that supported a new PMO● Ensured compliance to ISO and Sarbanes Oxley standards throughout the Enterprise● Architecture oversight on a NoSQL project using Hadoop and SSAS integrated with a Tableau front-end, optimized indexation and provided best practise for the management of data lineage

As the Director Enterprise Data/Solutions responsible for all architectural decisions related to Data Quality; Governance; ETL and Database Infrastructure. I had responsibility for all technical aspects of the Power Information Network (PIN) subdivision of JDPA. While leading the PIN technology division I was also involved, at a senior level, in numerous consulting engagements with major corporate clients.

● Partnered with The McGraw-Hill Companies Architecture group to define enterprise standards and best practice● Collaborated with The McGraw-Hill Companies Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) team to define Enterprise standards for application development● Developed onshore and offshore team structures that optimized development ROI● Developed a corporate blueprint for the creation and sustenance of a BI Center of Excellence for McGraw Hill, created a modular approach to integration and BI development which mingled onshore and offshore resources in a highly effective manner that maintain quality and productivity, Estimated savings for use of mixed onshore and offshore staff at JD Power for 2009 were $1.2 million● Implemented Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) from the data perspective using OLTP, ODS, and DSS architectures to supply timely and consistent business information.

Zenith Insurance - Woodland Hills, CA May 2002 – June 2006Zenith specializes in the provision of workers' compensation insurance products. It provides insurance coverage for employees who may be injured in the course of employment.

Enterprise Data Architect

Responsible for BI related hardware, software and personnel, tasked with taking full advantage of the BI investment. Responsible for providing thought leadership and setting technical direction in the data management arena. Supported and guided the logical and physical data modelers, as well as DBA’s and developers.
