As we start the month of January we are working at a brisk pace to put closure to all of our semester one classes and the work still necessary to complete. Students and parents are reminded to keep in touch with your son/daughter's teachers to ensure that all work and tests are completed in a timely manner. Our January calendar will have the last day of regular scheduled classes on January 18th. Double blocks of AA and BB will commence on January 21st and double blocks of CC and DD on the 22nd. This will be followed by our "project completion days" on January 23rd and the 24th with our semester turn around day on January 25th. Students are able to attend SKSS on the project completion days to complete any missing tasks, projects or tests that are required for final semester 1 grades. January 25th is a semester change over day and teachers will use this day to prepare for the start of semester 2 which is scheduled for Monday, January 28th. Students who are writing any provincial exams or the numeracy assessment are reminded to confirm dates and times for their specific exams- this can be done with their individual teacher or by looking on our SKSS website. My January 2019 “Titans” call-out is for all of our students who continue to use their education as a platform to better our community throughout Kamloops. Of note were our students who were directly involved with the SKSS Food Bank Drive in December as well as the Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women commemoration. Your collective commitment and participation is a true reflection of a Titan and all of the positive values that we stand for on our amazing campus. I know I speak on behalf of our entire staff and community when I say how proud we are of you and your efforts :) A friendly reminder to our parents that our next PAC meeting is on January 24, 2019 at 7:00 pm in our library. All interested parents are invited to attend these meetings to be a part of our collective planning which further supports all of our students, staff and extra-curricular programs on our campus.
