The Natural Building SystemThe STEICO construction system combines building and insulation solutions based on the renewable raw material of wood.

The STEICO Group – with headquarters in Feldkirchen, near Munich, Germany – is the Europe‘s largest manufacturer of environmentally friendly wood fibre insulating materials. For decades, STEICO insulating materials have been protecting millions of buildings across the world against the effects of cold, heat, moisture and wind.

The comprehensive range of insulation products is complemented by a series of innovative construction solutions – enabling you to obtain a full construction-supporting and insulating building shell from a single source.

The results of independent tests regularly confirm that STEICO construction products are exceptionally environmentally friendly with high-quality building insulation properties.

The wood fibre used in STEICO products has the ability to reduce global CO2 during the plant‘s growth phase. As the forests from which our raw material is sourced grow, each tree will bind and withdraw CO2 from the atmosphere. Timber is a unique material in that for each 1 m3 used, up to 1 tonne of CO2 is bound within the product. In the form of insulating materials this CO2 remains bound in the wood fibres for the entire lifetime of the product.

The subdivisions of STEICO‘s building system

| WOOD FIBRE INSULATING MATERIALS

We use exclusively fresh, untreated and sustainably sourced softwood in the production of STEICO wood fibre insulating materials. In all of the production processes used in the manufacture of these insulating materials, the fresh wood is exposed to heat and steam to split the wood into individual fibres. These fibres are then used to form STEICO insulation boards. All STEICO insulating materials are highly vapour-permeable.

Flexible Insulation

The flexible insulation STEICOflex 036 is produced using a dry process and utilises textile fibres as a binding agent. Thanks to this homogenous fibre structure the insulation is able to self-support between studwork providing long term stability and security. Cutting and handling of the product is uncomplicated and utilises standard wood working tools.

Rigid Insulation

The full range of STEICO rigid insulations offer a suitable product and cost effective solution for multiple areas of use. They provide numerous performance benefits such as weathering protection, summer and winter heat protection and ‘diffusion open’ construction thereby ensuring the correct use of ‘building physic´s.

AIR Injected insulation

STEICO is the only manufacturer that offers both wood fibre and cellulose as air-injected insulation options from its own production facility. Made from fresh softwood STEICOzell is produced using a ‘dry process’. Due to the three dimensional interlocking fibre structure STEICOzell is exceptionally slump resistant and provides a joint free insulation solution.

| I-JOISTS

I-Joists are construction components inspired by nature. Constant optimisation of the weight and load bearing capacity results in the characteristic double-T shape of the joist. STEICO I-Joists are exceptionally light with a high load bearing capacity. Thanks to their slim shape, the joists improve the energy efficiency of components, making them ideal for low-energy and passive housing construction projects.

| LAMINATED VENEER LUMBER / LVL

Laminated veneer lumber is constructed from multiple layers of bonded softwood veneer. This special structure virtually eliminates the weak points found in natural construction wood. Laminated veneer lumber also boasts high dimensional stability – contraction, swelling and warping are significantly reduced.

engineered by nature

We spend approx. 80 % of our lives in enclosed rooms. But are we always aware what we are surrounding ourselves with? STEICO has set itself the target of develo-ping building products which consider the needs of both man and nature. Our products are therefore produced using sustainable natural materi-als. They help reduce energy use and add considerably to a natural healthy internal climate.

Steico insulation and construction materials, carry a number of distinguished ‘seals

of approval’ which is a sign of high quality, healthy and functional building products. The raw materials used in Steico products are certifi ed by FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFC® (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certifi cation®), ensuring a traceable and fully sustainable usage of the raw materials. STEICO,

the number 1 choice for your sustainable building solutions.
