DefinitionIn the cognitive learning theory, students

learn by listening, watching, touching, reading or experiencing.

Learners use their prior knowledge and build on their schema as they need the information.

When a student is learning they place information in files that are stored in a “filing cabinet” in the brain. When new information is gained, a new “file” is created.
