In this chapter equations were derived for different reactors: plug flow, batch, and CSTR.You learned how to integrate ordinary differential equation using MATLAB, and thenapplied those skills to reactor problems in plug flow reactors (both isothermaland nonisothermal). You also learned to do the same thing using Comsol Multiphysics, Aspen Plus, and, for simple problems, Excel.

    Description:

The Joint Venture Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) and Nigerian NationalPetroleum Corporation (NNPC) plan to implement the Qua Iboe Power Project including a gas fired power plant and a high voltage transmission line from MPNUs QuaIboe Terminal (QIT) to PHCN substation Ikot Abasi. The construction of the high-voltage transmission line will be carried out in close cooperation with state owned Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). The Early Works included a comparison study of a simple cycle power plant with an alternative combined cycle powerplant, where technological and economical aspects as well as regional distinctions in Nigeria were considered. ILF executed a complete route alignment for the 5

8 km transmission line. ILF performs its services of the current Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract for two parts of the project: First, the gas turbine power plant with a planned capacity of 500 MWel minimum and second, the 330 kV high voltage transmission line which connects the plant with the nationalgrid. Corresponding to this division, MPNU will also award the implementation totwo EPC contractors. Furthermore ILFs services comprise topographical and geotechnical surveys, the EIA for the transmission line, the issue for construction documentation of the fuel gas piping across QIT, the preparation of the InvitationTo Tender (ITT) documents and the criteria to evaluate the bids in the subsequent phase of EPC Tendering. ILF is also responsible for the project management ofthe FEED contract as well as for the subcontracts for topographic survey, geotechnical investigations and EIA transmission line.

    Technical Data:

500 MWel simple cycle gas turbine generators, optional 500 MW combined cycle power plant 330 kV HVTL power transmission line, double circuit, double conductor, 58 km

    ILF Services:

Early Works FEED Phase 1: Tender Documents

    Phase 2: EPC Tendering
