    8 Chocolate Coffee Martini Recipe

This layered coffee-and-chocolate cocktail is elegant and easy to make.

The trifecta of coffee, chocolate and alcohol makes this Chocolate

Coffee Martini1 a decadently drinkable cocktail. Its layered liqueurs

and chocolate ice cream look impressive, but it can be made in no

time flat if you have leftover drip coffee to spare.

    Ingredients:

1.5 oz. Irish Cream liqueur (such as Baileys)

1 oz. chocolate liqueur (such as Godiva Chocolate

    Liqueur)

    1/2 oz. vodka

    2 oz cold drip-brewed coffee or cold-brewed coffee2

1 small scoop chocolate ice cream

    Preparation:

    1. Layer the alcohols3 in the order listed above.

    2. Layer the coffee. (It may mix somewhat with the Irish

Cream and vodka. The chocolate liqueur should remain at

    the bottom of the glass.)

    3. Top with ice cream.

    4. Serve.

    10 Espresso Martini

    Glass Guide- Cocktail Glass

This Espresso Martini is just one of many coffee-like Martini1 recipes

being made today. I like this one because it actually uses chilled

espresso that gives that caffeinated kick you just can't duplicate with

coffee liqueurs2. This is a fantastic before3 or after dinner4 drink,

happy hour cocktail, or, really, anytime you desire a great coffee

    flavored cocktail.

    Ingredients:

    1 1/2 oz vodka

    3/4 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur

1/4 oz white creme de cacao

    1 oz cold espresso

    Preparation:

    1. Pour the vodka5 and Kahlua, creme de cacao and espresso

into a cocktail shaker6 with ice.

    2. Shake7 well.

    11 Bacchus Espresso Martini

    Espresso Martini Cocktail

There are many attempts at an Espresso Martini out there (see a few

below), but it was one that I had after dinner at the Bacchus

Restaurant1 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands that was the best by far. I

think it was the combination of Cruzan's Vanilla Rum and strong,

fresh brewed coffee that set this one apart as spectacular. When

you're making this, be sure to allow your coffee to chill while also

making sure it is fresh - if the coffee's hot the ice in the shaker will

    melt almost instantly.

    Ingredients:

    2 oz Cruzan Vanilla Rum

1 3/4 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur

1 1/2 oz strong coffee, chilled

    Preparation:

    1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker2 filled with ice.

    2. Shake well3.

    3. Strain into a well-chilled4 cocktail glass5.

    12 Triple Espresso Martini

    Triple Espresso Martini

Looking for a Martini1 with a little jolt? Then you have to try the

Triple Espresso2 Martini. This power packed cocktail is absolutely

delicious and somewhat addicting due to the mix of Triple Shot

Espresso Vodka, coconut and amaretto3 and when you add the

chocolate rim, it's all about satisfying your energetic sweet tooth. One

thing you'll notice with this recipe is that the rum and amaretto are

shaken together and the vodka is shaken on it's own then layered on

top. It adds a little more pizazz despite the extra work.

    Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz Three Olives Triple Shot Espresso Vodka

    1 oz coconut rum

    1/2 oz amaretto

    chocolate for rimming

    Preparation:

    1. Rim4 a cocktail glass5 with chocolate.

    2. Pour the rum6 and amaretto into a cocktail shaker7 filled

    with ice.

    3. Shake8 and strain into the prepared glass.

    4. Shake the vodka and layer9 into the glass.

    13 Vodka Espresso

    Vodka Espresso

A vodka espresso would be called an espresso martini by many, but

the bartender-creator Dick Bradsell wanted to avoid the clich. This

more elaborate version of the original requires two types of coffee

liqueur, with the drier Tia Maria acting as a foil for the sweeter,

richer Kahla. Diluting the espresso with water will only make it

taste bitter. If the espresso is too strong, quips Bradsell, add more

    vodka.

    Ingredients:

1 rounded tablespoon (about 7 grams) finely ground

    coffee, preferably an espresso blend

    3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces or 1 jigger) vodka

1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) Kahla (or substitute any

    coffee liqueur)

1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) Tia Maria (or substitute any

    coffee liqueur)

    Ice cubes

    3 roasted coffee beans

    Preparation:

Warm up the espresso machine. Put the coffee in the filter basket of

the portafilter, tamp down with a tamper, and secure the portafilter

in the brew head. Place a brewing pitcher or other receptacle directly

under the brew head, turn on the brew switch, and brew for 22 to 28

seconds to yield 1 1/2 ounces of espresso. Let cool to room

temperature, then refrigerate until ready to use.

Combine the espresso with the vodka, Kahla, and Tia Maria in a

cocktail shaker, fill with ice, and shake vigorously. Strain into a

chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with the coffee beans. Serve

    immediately.

Original Vodka Espresso: Prepare the espresso with 2 rounded

tablespoons (about 15 grams) finely ground coffee. Instead of the

liqueurs, add 2 teaspoons of simple syrup to the espresso in the

cocktail shaker. Pour over ice in a highball glass and serve.

    14 Aman Snow Leopard

    Aman Snow Leopard

The Aman Snow Leopard was created by John Gakuru and it is one

fancy cocktail. Think about all the layers of this drink: the sweetness

of Sagatiba cachaca1 and amaretto, topped with luscious cream and a

few drops of rosewater to offset the heavy sweet, then some creative

decoration with a little espresso. It takes some time to create and

maybe a little practice to get just right, but it is worth every minute

and all the attention you can give it. Simply put, it is one of the best

cocktails I've had yet which features the Brazilian rum2.

    Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz Sagatiba Pura Cachaca

    1/4 oz amaretto liqueur

    1/2 oz heavy cream

3 drops of rose water essence

    1 shot of espresso

    Preparation:

    1. Stir3 the Sagatiba and amaretto4 in a mixing glass filled

    with cubed ice.

    2. Strain into a martini glass5.

    3. Layer6 the cream on top with the drops of rose water.

    4. Draw the "S" with drops of espresso sitting on top of the

    cream.
