1. Contents of this CD -

This CD contains Installable CoDeSys V2.3 along with other supporting Tools / Accessories for Nexgen-5000 series of CPUs –

1. End User License Agreement – The installation of the CoDeSys software and target

related files on this CD are subject to agreeing of the "End User Licensing Agreement". You are requested to read the same and agree upon before proceeding for the installation.

2. Installable CoDeSys V2.3 – This folder contains the Setup files for installation of

CoDeSys Programming Systems, Communication Gateway, etc. The installation procedure is explained later in this document.

3. Installable Target 5210 – This folder contains installable target for Nexgen 521X Series

of CPUs. After completion of CoDeSys Programming System installation, this target should be installed by using “Install Target” utility, as explained later in this document.

4. Installable Target 5220 T1.0 - This folder contains installable target for Nexgen 522X

Series of CPUs. After completion of CoDeSys Programming System installation, this target should be installed by using “Install Target” utility, as explained later in this document.

5. Acrobat Reader – This folder contains Installable Setup file for Acrobat Reader-5.0. This

utility can be used to read the documentation in PDF format. It will be required to read the manuals included in “Manuals” folder on this CD. It will also help you in reading the CoDeSys Project documentation generated in PDF format by using “Pdf995” utility. The latest update can be downloaded from following link -http://www.adobe.com/acrobat

6. Pdf995 – This folder contains two self extracting “Exe” files. These files will install a PDF

Creation tool and its configurator. After successful installation, a new printer named “Pdf995” will be added to your “Printers” folder. It can be used to generate documentation of CoDeSys Projects in “Pdf” format. NOTE : Pdf995 is a freeware to create electronic documentation in PDF format for easy storage and transportation and the latest update can be downloaded from http://www.pdf995.com/. This is a demo version that can be useful to create PDF files. Installation of this utility is optional.

7. Manuals – This folder contains manuals for Nexgen 521X CPUs, 522X CPUs, Bootstrap

Utility, CoDeSys Libraries, etc. Please refer to download area of our web-site : http://www.messung.com/ for latest updates of documentation.

8. DFR Files – This folder contains various docuframe files for selecting the layout of

project documentation as explained later in this document.

1.1 System Requirements – Minimum system requirement for CoDeSys installation are as mentioned below -

• Pentium (Pentium II, 350 MHz or higher recommended) • 32 MB RAM (64 MB RAM or more recommended)

• 50 MB Hard Disc space is required

• Windows 98SE / ME / NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP (MS Internet Explorer 4.0 or later

required)

• CD ROM drive (Either installed on local machine or on remote machine accessible via LAN)

1.2 Flow Chart of Installation Steps –

Start: Load the Installation CD in CD-Drive (Local or Network)

Install CoDeSys: Browse the CD and go to folder – “Installable CoDeSys_V2.3”. Run “Setup.Exe” from this folder to install the CoDeSys Programming System and its accessories. Follow the steps explained later in this document – CoDeSys Installation

Install Target 5210: Install Target for Nexgen-521X series of CPUs by following the steps explained later in this document - Target Installation

Install Target 5220: Install Target for Nexgen-522X series of CPUs by following the steps explained later in this document - Target Installation

Read End User License Agreement: Read and agree to EULA for CoDeSys and Messung Target Software - End User License Agreement

DFR Files: Copy “DFR Files” folder at root of this CD to your local hard disc. (Optional) - DFR Files

END

Acrobat Reader: Browse Installation CD and open ‘Acrobat Reader’ folder. Run ‘ar500enu.exe’ file to install the reader.

Pdf995: Install this utility by executing the two self-extracting “Exe” files in folder –‘Pdf995’ on the CD. (Optional)

Develop First Project: refer to CoDeSys User Manual and a guide to develop your first project with CoDeSys by using following short cuts –

‘Start->Programs->Messung Systems->CoDeSys V2.3 ->CoDeSys User Manual V2.3’ and

‘Start->Programs->Messung Systems ->CoDeSys V2.3 ->First Steps with CoDeSys’

1.3 Installable CoDeSys V2.3 – This folder contains installation Setup file for CoDeSys-V2.3. Run “Setup.Exe” from this folder to install the CoDeSys Programming System, Communication Gateway, DDE Server and Licensing Manager on your PC. During execution of the Setup, the “InstallShield Wizard” will navigate you through various installation steps and it will notify/ prompt you to define configuration parameters like – Language selection, Installation folder, Components of the package to be installed, etc. Click on following link to run the setup – Click here to install CoDeSys V2.3 When ‘Setup.Exe’ is executed, the very first dialog invoked is for language selection as shown below –

Once you select the language and click on OK button, the setup proceeds and shows following wel-come message –

Click on ‘Next >’ button and a dialog for selecting the components to be installed will pop-up as follows. Select CoDeSys V2.3, Communication Modules (default selection) with the help of check-box provided for each of these components –

Click on ‘Next >’ button and then a dialog will pop-up to define the destination folder for program files of the package. The default path will be ‘C:\Program Files\Messung Systems’. If you want to install at different location, then select the destination folder by clicking on ‘Browse’ button. When you are through with this procedure, click on ‘Next >’ button.

Then define the folder in which you would prefer the short cuts for CoDeSys components

to be placed. The default folder is ‘Messung Systems’, so after installation you can start the programming system by clicking on the short cut - ‘Start->Programs-> Messung Systems ->CoDeSys V2.3-> CoDeSys V2.3’ –

Click on ‘Next >’ button and you will get the overview of the settings you have preferred

during earlier steps. If you want to change any of these settings, then go back to respective dialog by using ‘< Back’ button and make necessary changes –

After confirming these settings, click on ‘Next >’ button and the actual file copying will start

and the status will be reported with Progress Bar as shown below –

During CoDeSys Installation, the XML Parser Software from Microsoft is also installed.

Setup for XML Parser will be invoked automatically and the Startup dialog will be displayed as follows –

Fill in the appropriate information at ‘User Name’ and ‘Organization’ fields and click on

‘Next >’ button -

Click on ‘Install’ button and the installation of XML Parser will be started. After completion

Click on ‘Finish’ button and the CoDeSys installation will proceed. After completion of

CoDeSys installation, following dialog will be displayed –

Click on ‘Finish’ button and then CoDeSys installation procedure is over. Up till now we have installed CoDeSys Programming System, Communication Gateway

Server and OPC Server.

1.4 Target Installation – Now the “Messung Targets” should be installed so as to enable the configuration of

CoDeSys projects to be deployed on Messung PLCs. Use ‘Install Target’ utility to install the Messung CPUs of 521X and 522X series as target hardware.

Go to ‘Start->Programs->Messung Systems->CoDeSys V2.3->Install Target’ and double click to instantiate the utility.

The utility has provision to define following settings – Installation Directory – This field defines the destination folder where target files will be

installed. Default folder for individual target is defined within target definition file. User should not change this setting unless he/she wants to select different path for target installation.

Possible Targets – This pane indicates the targets that can be installed and these are

selected by opening respective target information files (*.tnf). Installed Targets – This pane indicates the targets that have been successfully installed. Open Button – It facilitates the browsing for corresponding target information (*.tnf) file by

way of invoking the ‘Open File’ dialog. Install Button – This button initiates installation process for a target, which is being

indicated in “Possible Targets” pane and is selected (highlighted). Remove Button – This button facilitates target removal. Select the targets indicated in

“Installed Targets” pane and then click on “Remove” button. Close Button – Click on this button to terminate the utility.

Click on “Open” button to invoke the “Open File” dialog and then select the Target

Information file (*.tnf). In order to install ‘Nexgen 5210’ series of CPU targets, select the “Cpu_5210.tnf” file from

“Installable Target 5210” folder on the CD. (In order to install ‘Nexgen 5220’ series of CPU targets, select the “CPU_5220_T1_0.tnf”

file from “Installable Target 5220 T1.0” folder on the CD.) Click on “Open” button –

Now the target will appear in “Possible Targets:” pane. Select it by mouse click and then it will be highlighted, as shown below –

Click on ‘Install’ button to initiate the installation procedure. If the target is getting installed for the first time, then a notification will be received as -

Click on ‘Yes’ button and then target will be installed.

Installed target will appear in “Installed Targets:” pane as shown below –

Up till now we have installed “Nexgen 5210” target. Now repeat the above-mentioned steps and select the “CPU_5220_T1_0.tnf” file from “Installable Target 5220 T1.0 “ folder at root directory of the CD to install target “Nexgen 5220”. Click on ‘Close’ button and the “Install Target” utility will be terminated. This completes the CoDeSys installation and Target installation procedure.

1.5 DFR Files – This folder contains page layout (*.dfr) files, which can be used as templates during project documentation. Copy this folder to your local hard disc. You can develop your own DFR files and store them in this folder. During Project documentation, you can select the appropriate DFR through ‘File->Printer Setup…’ menu. See more details about this feature in User Manual for CoDeSys available in “Manuals” folder on this CD.

1.6 Develop First Project in CoDeSys –

Now you may proceed to use CoDeSys Programming System by using the short cut – ‘Start-> Programs->Messung Systems->CoDeSys V2.3 -> CoDeSys V2.3’. You can refer to CoDeSys User Manual and a guide to develop your first project with CoDeSys by using following short cuts – CoDeSys User Manual – ‘Start-> Programs->Messung Systems->CoDeSys V2.3 ->CoDeSys UserManual V2.3’. First Steps with CoDeSys – ‘Start-> Programs->Messung Systems->CoDeSys V2.3 ->First Steps with CoDeSys’.

END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR CODESYS AND MESSUNG TARGET SOFTWARE

The terms and conditions of this Agreement shall apply to the software supplied

herewith by Messung Systems, Pune (hereinafter called as "Messung”) to End User. The term “Software” means CoDeSys software with all it’s standard deliverables from 3S - Smart Software Solutions GmbH, Germany on any media or Internet or email bundled with Target files. The term “Target” means the specific configuration and data files provided herewith by Messung for their Products so that CoDeSys can be used to program their products.

The “Software” is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties as

well as any other applicable intellectual property laws and treaties by 3S-Smart Software Solutions GmbH and has authorized Messung to distribute the Software along with the Target for programming Messung products under the terms and conditions herein when used with the Target. The term “Licensor” means joint promotional activity for Software by Messung systems and 3S Smart Software Solutions GmbH.

ARTICLE 1 – GRANT OF LICENSE:

1. Licensor grants to End User a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use one copy of the “Software” when used exclusively with Messung Target, in executable / object code form on a single computer.

2. The license grants the End User to make one (1) copy of the “Software” and Target for ARCHIVAL PURPOSES ONLY; provided, however, that such copy shall contain the same copyright notice and proprietary marking appearing on the original “Software”.

ARTICLE 2 – COPYRIGHT: All title and copyrights in and to the “Software” and any copies of the “Software” shall be

owned by 3S software and Messung owns the rights of the Target files. All rights not specifically and expressly granted to the End User under this Agreement shall be reserved by 3S software.

ARTICLE 3 – RESTRICTIONS: Except as expressly provided in the above Article-1, End User shall not :

1. Make any copy or copies of the “Software”; 2. Modify the “Software”; 3. Sell, distribute, sub-license, lease, rent, assign, transfer or otherwise dispose of

the “Software”. 4. Reverse engineer, de-compile or disassemble the “Software”; 5. Sub-license, assign or transfer the rights granted to End User hereunder.

ARTICLE 4 – LIMITED WARRANTY:

1. Licensor will, free of charge, repair or replace any defective recording media upon which the “Software” is recorded if the media is returned by End User to the location where End User obtained it within ninety (90) days from the date of initial receipt of the “Software” by End User. This limited warranty does not cover defects due to any accident, abuse or misapplication, or any cause occurring after the initial receipt of the “Software” by End User. The repair or replacement of the “Software” pursuant to this Article 4.1 shall be End User's exclusive remedy.

2. Licensor do not warrant that the functions of the Software will meet End User's requirements or that “Software” operation will be error-free or uninterrupted.

3. Except as expressly provided in this article-4, the “Software” is provided to end user on "as is" basis without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of non-infringement, merchantability, and/or fitness for a particular purpose.

ARTICLE 5 – LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Licensor shall not be liable for any damages including, but not limited to, general, direct,

indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including but not limited to lost profits, business interruption and the like), whether based on contract, tort or any other legal theory, and even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

ARTICLE 6 – EXPORT CONTROL: End User agrees to comply strictly with all applicable laws and regulations including but

not limited to export control laws and regulations. End User shall not, without Licensor’s prior written consent and any applicable

governmental approval, carry out or export the “Software”, directly or indirectly, to any country other than the country where End User initially obtained the “Software”.

ARTICLE 7 – TERM OF TERMINATION:

1. Unless terminated under this Agreement, this Agreement shall continue in effect indefinitely.

2. Licensor may terminate this Agreement if End User fails to comply with any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

3. End User may, with one (1) month prior written notice to Messung Systems, terminate this Agreement.

4. On termination of this Agreement for any reason, all End User's rights granted by Licensor under this Agreement shall be automatically terminated and End User shall promptly cease to use all the “Software” and, at End User's costs: a) Shall promptly return all copies of the “Software” to Messung AND b) Shall promptly destroy all installations of the “Software” and submit to

Messung a certificate testifying that all copies of the “Software” have been destroyed.

ARTICLE 8 – MISCELLANEOUS:

1. This Agreement shall be governed in all respects by the laws of India. 2. End User agrees and acknowledges that End User's breach or threatened

breach of this Agreement will cause irreparable injury to Licensor and that, in addition to any other remedies that may be available, in law, in equity or otherwise, Licensor shall be entitled to obtain injunctive relief against threatened breach of this Agreement or the continuation of any such breach by End User in any competent court.
