CODES AND CONVENTIONS OF PRINT DOCUMENTARY
ADVERTSSHAUN HUGHES
One of the most common codes and conventions of adverts for TV documentaries that are used in print is the fact that the logo of the channel on which the documentary is broadcasted on. The logo is normally on the opposite side of the title on the print advert.
Another code and convention of TV documentary adverts in print is the way that the slogan is the biggest text on the page, this gives the viewer of the advert an insight into what the documentary will be about. The same font is used in the slogan as what is used in the title.
Additionally, it is conventional for the scheduling information(when the documentary will be broadcasted on television) to be present on the advert. The scheduling information is usually written in the same font as the title of the documentary, which is clear and easily readable.
It is also conventional for the documentary advert that catches the attention of the reader. One simple yet striking image is used and it is always relevant to the topic of the television documentary.
