 WHISKY BASED COCKTAILS 1)MANHATTAN

Ingredients

Rye whisky -2 measures

Sweet vermouth -1 measure

Angostura bitters -1 dash

Ice cubes

Method:1) Stir all the ingredients together. Strain into a cocktail glass.

Decorate with lemon peel and a cherry.

Note: if you substitute dry vermouth instead of sweet, it is

known as Dry Manhattan.

2)MINT JULEP

Ingredients

Bourbon whiskey -2 measures

Mint leaves -6

Caster sugar -1 tsp

Soda water

Crushed iceMethod:

1) Put the sugar and mint into a highball glass. Add a splash

of soda water and thoroughly mash the mixture until the

sugar is dissolved.

2) Add the bourbon and fill the glass with crushed ice. Stir

well until the outside of the glass becomes frosted.

Decorate with mint and serve with two straws.

3)KLONDIKE  

Ingredients

Canadian whisky -2 measures

Apple brandy -2 measures

White crème de menthe -1 teaspoon

Grenadine -a dashIce cubes

Method:

1)  Shake vigorously with ice. Strain into an old-fashioned

glass, half-filled with crushed ice.

4) WHISKEY PUNCH OR HOT WHISKEY 

Ingredients

Irish whiskey -1 measure

Golden brown sugar -2 tsp

Slice of lemon -1

Whole cloves -4

Boiling water

Method:1) Put the whiskey, sugar and the lemon slice studded with

cloves into a heat-proof glass. Pour boiling water on top.

stir to blend.

Method:

1) Mix the sugar, water and bitters in a mixing glass. Add the

whiskey and ice cubes. Stir and pour into a rock glass.

Decorate with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry.

6) FLYING SCOT  MAN

Ingredients

Scottish malt whisky -2 measures

Green chartreuse -1 measure

Egg white -1 teaspoonIce

Method:

1) Shake ingredients vigorously with ice and strain into a

cocktail glass. Decorate with cherries.

Ingredients

Irish whiskey -2 measures 

Dark rum - 1 measure

Lime juice - ½ measure

Orange juice - ½ measureCaster sugar - ½ teaspoon

Chilled ginger ale

Method :

1) Put all the ingredients, except the ginger ale, into a shaker.

Shake well. Strain into a tall glass and top up with ginger

ale.

Caster sugar -1 teaspoonThick lemon slice studded with 3 cloves-1

1) Put the studded lemon slice into a mug. Add the whiskey,

sugar and cinnamon stick. Pour in the boiling hot water

and stir.

1) Half- fill a tumbler with broken ice. Add the ingredients.

Stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass. Decorate with a

Crème de cacao - 2 teaspoon

Crushed ice

Method :1) Shake all the ingredients vigorously with crushed ice.

1) Place the spirits and fruit juices in a shaker along with the

ice cubes. Shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass.Add a dash of grenadine syrup on top.

1) Pour the ingredients over ice cubes into a whisky glass. Stir

gently.

1) Cut the rind from the lemon juice in one continuous spiral.

Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Add the whisky.

  GIN BASED COCKTAILS

1)MARTINI

Ingredients

Dry gin - 1 measure

Dry vermouth - ½ measure

Shaving of lemon peel

Ice cubes

Method:1) Put the ice, gin and vermouth into a chilled mixing glass or

glass jug. Stir vigorously with a spoon for 15 sec.

2) Strain into a cocktail glass which has been taken straight

from the fridge. Squeeze the silver of lemon peel so that

the zest falls on to the surface of the drink and creates a

glaze.

3) Now drop the lemon peel into the drink .

1) Shake all the ingredients, except the 7 up and strain into

an ice filled rocks glass. Add the 7 up

11) COLU MBUS COCKTAIL 

Ingredients

Golden rum- 1 ½ measure

Apricot brandy- ¾ measure

Fresh lime juice- 1 measure

Crushed ice

Method:

1) Shake the ingredients with crushed ice. Strain into a

cocktail glass. Add a slice of lime.

12) BACARDI COCKTAIL 

Ingredients

Bacardi white rum- 1 ½ measure

Fresh lime juice- 1 measure

Sugar syrup- ½ measure

Grenadine- 1 teaspoon

Ice

Method:

1) Shake all the ingredients with ice. Strain into a wine

goblet. Decorate with a cherry.

Ingredients

Dark rum 1measure

Southern comfort- ½ measure

Crème de banana- ½ measure

Fresh lime juice- ¼ measure

Lemonade- 2 ½ measures

Method:

1) Add all the ingredients to a rocks glass half-filed with

broken ice. Stir very gently.

14) RU M SUNDAY 

Ingredients

Dark rum- 1 measure

Sweet cherry- ½ measure

Grenadine- ½ measure

Vanilla ice- 3 table spoons

Over proof dark rum- 2 teaspoons

Crushed ice

Method:

1) Blend all the ingredients except the strong rum briefly with

a glassful of crushed ice. Pour into a tall glass.

2) Float the strong rum on top. Sprinkle with grated

chocolate.

15) OYSTER BAY 

Ingredients

Dark rum- 1 measure

Anisette- 1 teaspoon

Mango juice- 2 measures

Grapefruit juice- 1 measure

Pineapple juice- 1 measure

Papaya juice- 1 measure

Fresh lime juice- ¾ measure

Sugar syrup ½ measure

Ice

Method:

1) Shake all the ingredients together and strain into a tall ice

filled glass.

2) Decorate with fruit. Serve with two straws.
