Welcome to
Taxi Kitchen is an impressive and sophisticated place to plan your next
dinner event, function or celebration. Located on the 1st floor of the
Transport Hotel complex Taxi Kitchen enjoys unparalleled 270 degrees
views of city landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral, the Arts Centre, the
Yarra River and the MCG. Executive chef Tony Twitchett is renowned in
Melbourne for his strong focus on local, fresh, sustainable ingredients that
work alongside his creative flair for modern Australian and Asian cuisine.
Having joined us in 2004, Tony has developed the tastes of Taxi Kitchen to
where it is today.

We cater for all manner of occasions including birthdays, engagements,
weddings, corporate events and family gatherings. Our stunning
restaurant has three distinct spaces with a total capacity of 300 guests.
All spaces enjoy magnificent views of the CBD, and the stunning outlook
is an impressive backdrop to the stylish interior, both day and night.

The main dining room, overlooking the Melbourne skyline has a distinct
New York feel to it, commanding a modern grandeur. It is perfect for
large scale dinner or canape functions if you’re looking to host an event
with style and impact.
The Terrace
and Terrace
A semi-private space with an outlook directly over the Yarra River
towards the Botanical Gardens. This modern space is flooded by
natural light during the day and the city lights by night. Adjacent to
the Dining Room, it’s an ideal space for sophisticated dining events and
cocktail parties.
Our private dining room overlooks Federation Square with 180 degree
views of the Yarra River, Arts Centre and the MCG. Ideal for long boozy
lunches and dinner parties or intimate stand up cocktail parties, it
offers privacy from the rest of the venue and can be converted to a
semi-alfresco space.
These two rooms can be combined seamlessly to create one stunning
semi-private space for either sit-down dining events or stand-up
cocktail functions.

Menu and Food Details
All private dining events at Taxi Kitchen will
need to select from pre-set menus. Cost of menus
will be adjusted accordingly should you wish
to customise a menu from our a la carte. Menu
items are chosen from our current selections and
change throughout the year based on seasonal
availability.
Food and Beverage Order Guidelines
All food and beverage orders must be received
no later than two weeks prior to your event.
Constructive Feedback
Our goal is to exceed your expectations on each
and every meeting or event that you hold at
Transport Hotel. If you have feedback regarding
the planning or execution of your event, we ask
that you direct your comments to:[email protected]
Confirmation and Final Numbers
Confirmation of final numbers must be
communicated no later than 7 days in advance
of your booking. Please refer to our Terms and
Conditions for more details.
Deposit and Settlement Terms
To secure your booking, a deposit is required
and the confirmation form signed and completed.
90 days prior to the booking, 50% of the total
costs of the estimated function charge is to be
paid. 14 days prior to the event 100% of the total
estimated costs of the event charge is to be paid
with any additional charges payable by credit
card on the night. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further details.
Timings
Event start times are subject to availability
and will be confirmed once the booking form
and deposit are received. Group bookings are
not available between 7:00-8:00pm Thursday to
Saturday. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions
for further details.
Gratuities
All group bookings, functions and events incur
a discretionary 5% gratuity of the total bill.
Outside Food and Beverage
Outside food and beverage is not allowed
without advance agreement by Transport Hotel.
Transport Hotel reserves the right to assess a
fee, based on any approved external food and
beverage brought onto the premises. Cake Cutting
and external desserts: $5 per person.
Music and Quiet Enjoyment
Live music/DJ is welcome on our premise if a
level of Transport Hotel is reserved in its entirety
but must be expressly approved by the General
Manager. Transport Hotel reserves the right to
limit the sound of music. If it is deemed necessary
by management that security is required to
ensure smooth running of the event, costs shall be
added to the event, payable by the client. Please
refer to Terms and Conditions for further details.
Rental Equipment
Transport Hotel would be delighted to put you
in touch with our preferred AV company to assist
with your event should the equipment you request
be already in use, or should you require equipment
we do not already have on site. We strongly
suggest a site inspection prior to your event of all
audio visual equipment to ensure compatibility.
Rental charges will be at your expense and to
be paid directly to the AV company. Equipment
available to hire from Transport Hotel include:Microphone, Television, PA System, Photo booth.
