Helping Hands: Links volunteers with to assist with certain situations, visiting seniors to offer help where needed. 2. Food Hampers: The Food Hamper Program (sponsored by the Cochrane Activettes) which is intended to provide food hampers to families and individuals who find themselves in a temporary, difficult situation. 3. Meals on Wheels: An opportunity for individuals to receive healthy, well balanced meals that are delivered directly to their place of residence. These meals are frozen making it easier to make and time convenient. 4. Community Access Resource (C.A.R) : Provides some subsidized travel to those most vulnerable to being socially isolated and unable to access community services, resources and supports.

Alberta Aids (ADL): Helps people with long term disability or illness remain at home by assisting financially for medical equipment and supplies.

Support: Caregivers’ Support Group: This program will feature either a guest speaker or a discussion topic to support caregivers. There is a link to others with a similar experience, sharing of caregiving strategies and information on community resources. ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY Phone: 403-290-0110 Services: The Alzheimer Society has Registered Social Workers who are available to meet privately for one on one or for family consults. They answer common questions about dementia, challenges, issues and available resources. They provide: supportive counseling over the phone or in person, referrals to education programs or support groups and referrals to other community support programs.
