fix reference station points or PIs at 100-200m intervals for reference of the centerline road or the place to be construct, where there is a horizontal curve or vertical curve the interval of the PIs will be less than 100m. And fix centerlines of the construction areas or road by putting pegs at 10m intervals including setting of horizontal & vertical curves. Set out also cross-section of theconstruction area or road at 10m intervals or less as convenient, if terrain is very ragged, by placing pegs on center, two sides & drainage lines of the road as well as following desiegn patterns of the cobble stone. Pegs for cobble stone roads are in most cases made from pieces of reinforcement steel for accurracy & srength for driving them deep in to the ground. The number of pegs along the cross-section of the road ranges from 7-13 depending on the pattern of the cobble stones and requirement of side drains. m2

Remove trees, tree roots, bushes, big stones,masonary steps, concrete steps, grass & other obstacles. Those trees to be retrained, as ordered by the engineer,will be kept undamaged.The material or debris as aresult of clearing & grubbing will be deposited or removed to the location as directed by the engineer. m2

Excavation the top layer of soil 15-20 cm top soil to remove the soil with grass and organic layer of the soil which is very weak,comressible & not required for road construction and/or to creat designed elevation level as per the instruction of the engineer. The excavated material will be deposite at a place directed by the engineer. Design level surface finish has to be compacted to the required m3

Suppy,fill and compact the 10mm spaces or voids between the cobblestone with fine crushed aggregate to prevent the movement of the stones due to traffic and make the pavement stiff. the surface should be cleaned afterwards. m2

4.0 Curp stone,Channel,Ford and Concrete workSupply and fix 15x30cm shaped curb stones, 30 to 50 cm long each,betweenpavement and sidewalk,along both sides of the road with a cement mortarbase(bedding) of 1:4 mix and backed with C-15 concrete on the external sides of the road,for support,as shown in the design and fill joints with Ditto as above 4.1,but 15x17cm shaped and 17 cm long each.Construct 100cm wide channel with 10cmx10cmx10cm cobblestone and 1:4 ratio cement sand mortar 5cm thick bedding, jionts shall be filled with the mortar (cost includes material,transportation and labor)
