Sran Robinson! Lmden~ representarive of \VIB, AACP and the State Economic Department stated that he supports Resoiution 20i 4-554. He said this trai.nlng provides resume writing and soft skiiis t..hat tndude tra1n1ng on-tlme for work and wear proper attire. He said they need to be taught all slr.ills.

He said he atte1.1ds the Union Coun.ly Auto Traumig un Thursday nighrs, and corrunended the msuucror of the ciass. He stated that the roads along Park Avenue to the intersection of St. George!s Avenue m Linden are in bad condition. He said the holes were repaired for oniy 24 hours~

County ~.1.anager Faella checked the jurisdiction of the roadway and discovered that it is not located in the County's jurisdiction. Counr-y ~v{anager Faella confun1ed that it is not a County road that ~vfr. Jacobs is referring to.

Chairman Hudak stated that thev wiii re-ach out to t-i-le LLt1den;s Public \Xforks Depart.tnent.

Pat ~y1ochctti, 1"-Jcw Providence, stated that tl1ere are many signs advertising e1nployn1ent along Route 22 fur vanuus jobs and shifrs rhar are available. He satd the Route 22 Shutcie could provtdc them wtth the transponation. He is opposed to the train_i_ng provided by the County i_n Resolution 2014-550. He said soft skilis should be taught in. school and teachers need to be pushed more and students should not be advanced if t..'-1ey are failing. He stated that teachers promote the st'udents wit..1.out having the skills and they are basing the pron1otions on social skills. He said tlus 1s a prublern that needs to be addressed, as it will not benefit kids or society.

Freeholder I(uwalski stated that rhe 1Oth annual EioBlirz was held earlier in the month. She sa.id BioBlitz involves a team of scientists, students, chiidren, adults and educators -in a round- tb.e- dock survey of plants and anitnals in County Parks.

Freeholder I(owalski mentioned n1any of the different species that were found. She thanked all rhe volu11teers and naturali~ts who participared in the event.

Freehoider I(owaiski stated t..~at the Ivlosquito Control Bureau will be around checbng for mosquito breedi..<1g spots and spraying where necessary. Freeholder Granados thanked the members of the Workforce Invesuuent Board and the Freeholder Board for supporting the \-viB prograir1s .. He said tlu~ will irnpruve the lives of County residents.

Freeholder Granados sa1d he had the pieasure of speaking at the iJflion County College Flag Day celebration honoring adult program graduates. He said there were \vell over 100 people at the Lessner Building in Elizabeth, i..~cluding about 25 people \Vho became citizens, 18 residents got their GEDs and 21 got Occupational Ttaining Certificates lil skills rhat will assist m obtaining employment. The Uruon County Workforce Investment Board heiped establish the consortmm to deliver these programs.

Chairman Hudak stated t..hat he is very farniiiar with t..he roadway along Park Avenue 1n Lir1den. He said it is a challenging road because of t..l,e truck traffic.

Chaitrnan Hudak spoke about the n:placement of the Goerhals Bndge rhat connects Staten Island with Elizabeth. He said there will be a public comment speaking section at fnh1re Freeholder Ivfeeti.ng regarding the dosi..11g of the CToet..l1a!s Bndge .
