In 1970, Nastroflex Spa was established by the Palù family, already operating on the abrasive market since the end of the 1950’s. Over the years, Nastroflex has
expanded, diversifying its merchandise and target markets. The focus on product research, characterised by differentiated performance
meeting specific industrial needs, was determinant in this journey.
In 2003, Nastroflex bolstered its international expansion by purchasing the crocodile brand tied to over one hundred years of history in the abrasives sector
and innovative patents in the advanced chemistry field. With this purchase, Nastroflex gained access to new markets in America, the Far East and Europe.
THANKS TO OUR MACHINES' ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY, WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER A WIDE RANGE OF PRODUCTS
FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS

> Lonbrade consists of an extremely smooth PET film that guarantees even and perfectly planar abrasive distribution. The newly designed resin and a layer of especially effective anti-clogging layer make the Lonbrade product perfect for all hard surfaces where constant removal and a scratch-free even finish are required.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS > preparation for surface finish on plaster, primer or paint
> primer and paint removal
> bare wood, polyester, acrylic and gel coat paint sanding
> light stainless steel burr removal
> finish on all types of metals
> composite material sanding
TECHNICAL TIPS> Use medium-hard backing pad.
For clogging materials, blow with compressed air on the abrasive surface to renew product abrasion capacity.

> Sunfoam discs are made up of a soft foam backing laminated with Velsystem, with a layer of structured abrasive. Used with a Velcro backing pad equipped with dust suction, they can sand any non planar surface. The special structured abrasive slows clogging and increases the finish.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS> Printer and paint and clear coat finish.
> Polyester, acrylic and gel coat paint sanding.
TECHNICAL TIPS> Only change up to a maximum of two grain sizes between one phase and the next. Check backing pad Velcro conditions often and replace when damaged, crushed or in the event of poor disc adherence.

GENERAL INFORMATION - FLAP WHEELS WITH FLANGE
> Flap wheels with flange are used on fixed bench buffer machine, centerless, articulated shaft sanders and portable buffers. Made up of radially arranged abrasive cloth flaps, they are used as an alternative to abrasive belts since more suitable for shaped surfaces or profiles. The sanding mark is shorter than abrasive belts, less rough and with a more polished finish.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS > rust and oxidation removal
> slight weld removal
> metal cleaning in general
> brush finish recondition
> shaped part finish
TECHNICAL TIPS> Use dry. Do not exceed the recommended number of revolutions.
Always use suitable pressure to avoid breaking and flap detachment.

GENERAL INFORMATION - FIBER DISCS
> Fiber discs are used on portable angular grinders. They are made up of a resin-reinforced paper backing on which a phenol binder keeps the abrasive grain anchored. Fiber discs are used as an alternative to flap discs. Fiber discs require a specific reinforcement backing pad to avoid breaking.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS> rust and oxidation removal
> weld removal
> cutting burr removal
TECHNICAL TIPS> Use dry. Do not exceed the recommended number of revolutions.
Use with the specific support backing pad and adequate pressure to avoid breaking.Work with reduced tilt to prevent the piece from coming into contact with the edge of the disc that could leave scratches or marks.Keep in a dry place to avoid deformation.

SANDING BLOCKS
Sanding blocks and pads are made with regular abrasives. However, the different density of the foam core and the use by hands may achieve removal and finishing rates not comparable with those of abrasives paper or cloth. The chart on the left shows the comparison parameters to help the user to adapt the grit of the block or pad to the roughness obtained with previous mechanical process. Whilst we used the best accuracy in providing the information, the chart is merely indicative;the operator is responsible for results.
Prices for each piece and packaging unit. Other grits and dimensions available on demand.

> Flap wheels are used on fixed bench buffers, centerless, articulated shaft sanders, portable buffers and automatic edge and frame sanders. Made up of radially arranged non-woven cloth or mixed flaps with cloth interleaves, they are used as an alternative to abrasive belts since more suitable for shaped surfaces or profiles. The sanding mark is shorter than abrasive belts, less rough and with a more polished finish.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS > rust and oxidation removal
> metal cleaning in general
> brush finish recondition
> shaped part finish
> primer and paint sanding
TECHNICAL TIPS> Use dry. Do not exceed the recommended number of revolutions. Always used suited pressure to prevent the nylon fiber from overheating.

99
CHEVRON BELTS – STANDARD FELT STRIPE 20 mm – PITCH 20 mm
Price per M – to be multiplied by the length of belt. Joint cost included.
GENERAL INFORMATION - CHEVRON BELTS> Chevron belts are used in automatic sanders to improve the contact surface between the abrasive belt and the contact pad.
> In the felt strips version, the dimension, density and distance of the strips effects the finish; soft and dense strips increase the finish while hard and distant ones improve removal.
> Graphite strips are used for coarse grain belts intended to sand raw veneered wood or panels.
> Chevron belts are also available in the wide belt version for super-finish units.
TECHNICAL TIPS> Use the belt that best fits need. Should the sander be intended for operation other than the original one, check chevron belt compatibility.
> Check belt strips conditions often. They can be worn, damaged or hardened in time, significantly deteriorating work.
> Avoid using the chevron belt against sharp corners, for example, selecting a sector (press) that protudes the panel to avoid damaging the felt or graphite strips.

• Abrasives should be used by expert and skilled personnel.
• A risk assessment must be conducted for each process to determine specific safety precautions.
• Always wear appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
• Safety pictograms which include the recommended PPE to be used on that product are found on products or stickers.
• Waste must be disposed of according to national and local laws.
HANDLING AND STORAGEStorage conditions are some of the most important factors that effect coated abrasive performance which provide maximum efficiency when correctly handled and stored.
Backings and some bindings used in production are sensitive to climate changes, absorb and lose humidity according to the relevant humidity in the surrounding room.Excessive humidity causes glue to soften and the abrasive grain will be pushed towards the backing rather than penetrating the work piece. Too low humidity causes a loss in flexibility making it difficult to use the abrasive product.
Ideal storage conditions require temperature between 18 and 22°C and relative humidity between 45 and 65%.
Do not rest coated abrasives on cement floors and keep away from steam sources such as hot air conduits and radiators. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Keep the product in its packaging until use.Rest jumbo rolls on their sides rather than standing and avoid stacking.
Correctly rotate products in the warehouse.
Wear safety goggles
Wear dust mask
Wear ear protectors
Wear protective gloves
Observe safety regulations
Do not use for wet processing (unless different specification)
