KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
• Bust (closed) 52"/132cm
• Length 45"/114cm
• Upper arm 16"/40.5cm
MATERIALS
• 28 1≤oz/42g balls (each approx 90yd/82m)
of Classic Elite Yarns La Gran (mohair/
wool/nylon) in #63521 steel grey
• One pair size 10≤ (6.5mm) needles OR
SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Stitch markers and holders
GAUGE
12 sts and 16 rows = 4"/10 cm over St st using
size 10≤ (6.5mm) needles and 2 strands of
yarn held tog.
TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
BACK
With 2 strands held tog, cast on 87 sts. Work
in St st, dec 1 st each side every 20th row 4
times—79 sts. Work even until piece meas-
ures 27"/68.5cm from beg.
Armhole shaping
Cast on 2 sts at beg of next 6 rows, 8 sts at beg
of next 2 rows—107 sts. Place marker at each
end of row. [Inc 1 st each side on next row.
Work 1 row even. Inc 1 st each side on next
row. Work 3 rows even] 5 times—127 sts.
Place marker at each end of row.
Shoulder shaping
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 28 rows, 4 sts at
beg of next 6 rows. Bind off rem 19 sts for
back neck.
LEFT FRONT
With 2 strands held tog, cast on 17 sts. Work
in St st, casting on at beg of WS rows (front
edge) as foll: cast on 4 sts once, 3 sts 4 times,
2 sts 3 times, 3 sts once (for 3-st garter-st
band)—42 sts. Working 3 sts at front edge in
garter st, cont rem sts in St st and work decs at
side edge (beg of RS rows) as for back—38
sts. Work even until piece measures 27"/
68.5cm from beg of first cast-on row.
Armhole, collar and shoulder shaping
Note Read through the following instructions
before beginning to knit. Work
armhole shaping at side edge as
for back, AT SAME TIME, inc 1
st at front edge (working inc sts
into garter st) on next row, then
every other row 9 times more, AT
SAME TIME, work 1 more st at
front edge in garter st (therefore 1
fewer st in St st) inside of garter st
on next row, then every 8th row 8
times more, AT SAME TIME,
when same length as back to
shoulder, shape shoulder at side
edge as for back—18 sts. Work
even on these 18 sts for 3"/7.5cm.
Place sts on a holder.
RIGHT FRONT
Work to correspond to left front,
reversing all shaping and place-
ment of garter st band and collar.
SLEEVES
With 2 strands held tog, cast on 38 sts.
Work in garter st for 4≤"/11.5cm.
Work in St st, inc 1 st each side every
4th row 5 times—48 sts. Work even
until piece measures 11"/28cm from
beg. Bind off all sts loosely.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Sew top of sleeve
to front and back armholes between
markers. Sew side and sleeves seams.
Collar
Sew sides of collar along back neck,
adjusting length if necessary. Seam sts
tog at center back using 3-needle bind off.
Lower edge band
With RS facing and 2 strands, beg at
lower edge of left front, inside of the 3-
st garter-st band, pick up and k 154 sts
evenly along lower edge of left front,
back and right front. Work in garter st
for 1"/2.5cm. Bind off loosely. Sew
ends of band along 3-st garter-st band
on fronts.�
