What’s important is nothing echoed down from the mountain topOr decided in a bubble of steel and glass tower by those who claim to “makenews.”Because you make news.News that only matters

Because it matters to the world outside our doors.It’s what you, the world, tell us.

You tell us…The truth of what’s importantBecause of where you liveHow you thinkWho we all areAs a people on this planet in this time.

What’s important.Think about those words.Where they come from.

Not from a single shining source of light radiating from a central point

But an endless constellation of billions of starsBeating heartsLiving soulsIt is the collective of all that is being aliveThe sum total of…Every dreamEvery hope

Every fearEvery ideaEvery custom

Every culture

What’s important is no constantIt’s no fixed variableNo statue

No pillarNo river frozen solidIt’s pulsing

What’s important isn’t part of usSome aspect or nuance or detail.It is us.The great cathedral our humanity built.And the blueprint for where we go from here.

It’s our creationOur evolution

And our revolutionThe only reason we’ve dreamedLovedSchemedConqueredAnd wept.

News didn’t build all that.News didn’t make these things mean everything.They mean everything because that’s just what it means to be alive

Alive in the world that topples… and erupts

Shudders… And shattersTakes its first breath… and it’s lastDoes the impossible… And dies tryingThinks… And buildsRe-thinks… And re-builds

News is not the reason why…

We dreamExploreSuffer
