Announcement ofthe Graduate School, Ghiang Mai University No. 07 I 2007 The Graduate School Scholarship Fund to support the research of graduate students, financial year 2007 The Graduate School has received the annual government statement ofexpenditure of2007 to support the research ofgraduate students studying inthe thesis programs. The budget will be allocated as follows: 1. Allocation: tosupport thesis research, - Ph,D, Student Type A(1) 5 scholarships not more than 60,000 BHT each - Ph.D. Student Type A(2) 45 scholarships not more than 35,000 BHT each - Ph.D. Student Type B(1) 5 scholarships not more than 35,000 BHT each - Ph,D. Student Type B(2) 10 scholarships not more than 30,000 BHT each - Master Degree Student ofPlan A Type A(1) 15 scholarships not more than 25,000 BHT each - Master Degree Student ofPlan A Type A(2) 19 scholarships not more than 8,000 BHT each 2. Applicant Qualification 2,1Must be a student studying inthe program that requires research for a thesis, that is: 1) The Ph.D. Studentof Type A orBbeginning from code 47,., 2) The Master Degree Student ofPlan A Type A(1) or A(2) beginning from code 48... 2.2fhe research topic must be related toone ofthe following topics: 1 ) Government Strategies 2) University policies and research schemes 3) Useful local/nation problem solutions 4) Transfer technology 2.3Thesis proposal must be approved and registered for the thesis course 2.4No scholarship will be awarded tostudents receiving more than 50,000 BHT from other funding agencies (for conducting a research) 2.5Applicant should not have receive this scholarship previously 3. Provisos concerning publication Thesis or part of the thesis must bepublished in a journal or anacademic print form which is accepted bythe postgraduate program, or presented in a conference that issuing the proceedings of which have anexternal peer review, or presented tothe public in any format which is accepted inthat postgraduate program. The grantee can disseminate these publications either during studying period or after graduation. 4. 6. The applicant must6.1 be qualified in accordance with Applicant Qualification Number 26.2 have been approved by the Graduate School to apply

7, Process and consideration7.1 The special expert committee is appointed by the Graduate School to consider scholarship

applications7.2 The consideration and determination of application is the right of the Graduate School

8. Acknowledgementln consonance with proviso of Publication N0.3, the published and disseminated thesis should

state that it was completed during the period of study at Chiang Mai University, and acknowledge thesupport of the Graduate School.

9. Declaration DateThe Graduate School will announce the list of grantees on 15r, September 2007 at the

Graduate School and each faculty, and on the website www.qrad.cmu.ac.th or www.qradcmu.com,

10. Scholarship AwardThe Grantee must receive and hand in the scholarship contract within 16ut - 24r' September

2007 al the Student Activities Unit, 3rd floor of the Graduate School building. Failure to complete theprocess within this period will result in disqualification of the application.
