CONTROL-M  ® /Server for Unix Flash Version 6.0.0x November 21, 2001 Tracking Number BMPM007542 – Incorrect path in the Sybase Initialization Script after Upgrade to CONTROL-M/Server version 6.0.03 Effected Users Users of CONTROL-M/Server for Unix version 6.0.01 (FD4000) with a Sybase database server on an AIX computer - who are planning to upgrade to CONTROL-M/Server for Unix version 6.0.03 (FD4500). Problem After upgrading from version 6.0.01 to 6.0.03, the RUN script for the Sybase database contains an incorrect path. If you are using a dedicated Sybase database server, Sybase will not restart after the upgrade procedure. Workaround Perform the following steps regardless of whether or not you are using a dedicated Sybase database server: 1. BEFORE starti ng the upg rade to ve rsion 6 .0.03 , copy the R UN scri pt (loca ted in <CONTROL-M server>/sybase/install/ ) to a temporary location. 2. Perfor m th e up grade proce dure as d escri bed i n th e CONTROL-M/Server for Unix Installation Guide version 6.0.03. 3. AFTER you have completed th e upgrade pro cedure, restore the abov e saved copy of the R UN script to its original location (<CONTROL-M server>/sybase/ins tall/ ). 4. Effected UsersUsers of CONTROL-M/Server for Unix version 6.0.01 (FD4000) with a Sybase database server on an AIX

computer - who are planning to upgrade to CONTROL-M/Server for Unix version 6.0.03 (FD4500).

ProblemAfter upgrading from version 6.0.01 to 6.0.03, the RUN script for the Sybase database contains an incorrect path.

If you are using a dedicated Sybase database server, Sybase will not restart after the upgrade procedure.

Workaround

Perform the following steps regardless of whether or not you are using a dedicated Sybase database server:

1. BEFORE starting the upgrade to version 6.0.03, copy the RUN script (located in <CONTROL-M

server>/sybase/install/ ) to a temporary location.

2. Perform the upgrade procedure as described in the CONTROL-M/Server for Unix Installation Guide version

6.0.03.

3. AFTER you have completed the upgrade procedure, restore the above saved copy of the RUN script to its

original location (<CONTROL-M server>/sybase/install/ ).

4. Use the startdb command to start the Sybase database.

This problem will be corrected in the next version of CONTROL-M/Server for Unix. If you have questions about
