4 - Is skilled in a ministry of compassionate listening. 5 - Is skilled in a ministry of incarnation presence. 6 - Is skilled in a ministry of prayer. 7 - Is skilled in a ministry of pastoral counseling. 8 - Recognizes the therapeutic value of touch and knows how to employ it discreetly. 9 - Conveys affirmation and acceptance of patients in an attitude of unconditional positive regard. 10 - Knows how to express the essence and intent of the Christian Faith to patients without condemnation, judgment or preachiness. 11 - Knows how to arouse realistic hope within patients without triggering unrealistic expectations. 12 - Knows how to elicit a patient’s deepest (even negative) feelings and minister at the greatest depth of those feelings. 13 - Avoids the administration of Scriptures in a mechanical “medicinal dosage” fashion. 14 - Is capable of practicing medicine as a Christian Ministry without noteworthy preaching skills. However, it is hoped that such a physician would become increasingly willing to attempt to articulate his Faith, his testimony for Christ and comments of Scriptures. 15 - Carries out ministry mainly in “one-on-one” situations. 16 - Develops a support network in order to receive ministry for his own needs.
