ANIMAL INTERACTIONS

Dolphin Photo Ops: Want to take home a lasting memory of your visit to CMA?Get your photo taken with one of our resident dolphins! This opportunity includes a souvenir photo taken by a CMA staff photographer.

Trainer for a Day: During this once-in-a-lifetime experience, you will be given the opportunity to “shadow” our professional trainers through food preparation, animal enrichment, exhibit maintenance and record keeping.

Feed Rufus: Come visit Rufus, one of the stars of the box office hit Dolphin Tale. During this brief encounter, you will get the opportunity to feed fish to one of the pelicans who played the role of Rufus!

Dolphin Encounter: Warning: you may get wet!!! This program offers participants the opportunity to work side by side with one of CMA’s trainers during a training and feeding session with one of our bottlenose dolphins.

Shark Encounter: Assist CMA’s staff when training and feeding our two nurse sharks, Thelma & Louise. You will learn how training our sharks improves their health and well-being, and will gain a greater understanding of these sentinels of the seas.

TOURS TIME

Behind the Scenes Tour: Dive into the history of Clearwater Marine Aquarium as your guide walks you through our mission of rescue, rehabilitation and release. Learn about our inspiring success stories and notable resident animals. Observe animal rehabilitation and discover our future plans.

Dolphin Adventure Tour: Turns guests of all ages into working marine biologists, studying dolphins, seabirds, and the environment in the field. Watch for our local bottlenose dolphins, use field guides to identify bird nesting sites, and participate in testing of our estuary’s water quality to help keep our bay clean.

Sea Life Safari: Look for dolphins, sea birds and other marine life as our staff narrates the scenic ride to a shell island. You’ll witness data collection in action as we perform our net pull and pass around sea critters before releasing them back to the bay.

Guided Kayak Tour: Our staff will guide the tour through local finger islands, identifying wildlife and coastal ecosystems along the way of this aquatic adventure. We provide the kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and expert guides, so you don’t have to worry about anything. Call 727-441-1790 ext. 262 for reservations.
