It is easy at times to feel overwhelmed with life. Working, car‐
ing for our families, serving at church and in CMA can all take
a toll on us. None of these things are bad things, but sometimes
even good things can wipe us out. The Bible says that giving is
sowing a seed that will reap a harvest (Galatians 6:7‐10). In giv‐
ing ourselves, giving our strength, we will in return reap God’s
strength. When you feel wiped out, like you have too much on
your plate, remember this and the below verse. CMA
Letters to the Editor
“The LORD is my strength and shield. I trustHim with all my heart. He helps me, and myheart is filled with joy. I burst out in songsof thanksgiving. The LORD gives His peoplestrength. He is a safe fortress for Hisanointed king” (Psalm 28:7-8, NLT).
Hospital Ministry
We do follow‐up HospitalMinistry after the Sturgis Rally. An individual that was severelyinjured was finally transferredto a hospital closer to his home
in Columbus, Ohio. We try to findCMA’ers to do follow‐up whenpeople leave our area and yourArea Reps, Rex and Mary Gilbert, responded immediately eventhough they were on the road. The Ohio State Coordinator, GRNiver, also responded to us with‐in a few hours. This was thefastest and easiest transfer wehave ever had happen. Kudos toyou and your crew and manythanks. You have some great ser‐

Each week, members of theChristian Motorcyclists
Association minister tomotorcyclists of all types at all sorts of biking events. From races to swap meetsand every kind of rally inbetween, CMA reaches intothe motorcycling communi‐ty, rubbing shoulders withbikers with a very specificset of needs.
To some, these bikers might look
like a completely different breed with
strange customs and complicated
problems, but we see bikers for who
they truly are: real people with real
needs. We know that no matter what
type of bike they ride, how young or
old they might be, all motorcyclists
have the same basic needs and face a
majority of the same issues. This is
the motivation behind a special proj‐
ect that is currently under develop‐
ment.
Hope for the Heart, the Biblical
counseling ministry of June Hunt,
serves to renew minds, heal hearts,
and bring hope to the hurting. Hope
for the Heart also works to empower
Christians to disciple others. Through
a special partnership between the
Christian Motorcyclists Association
and Hope for the Heart, we have put
together a resource providing Biblical
keys on the top 10 issues we believe
bikers face. The resource will be DVDbased and presented by CMA leaders
with a uniquely motorcyclists per‐
spective. Here are the ten issues cov‐
ered in this very useful resource:
• Marriage
• Divorce
• Conflict Resolution
• Depression
• Forgiveness
• Decision Making
• Fear
• Pride and Humility
• Anger
• Communication
Certainly, this list could be debat‐
ed, reworked, and added to, but with
over 35 years experience of minister‐
ing to bikers at motorcycle rallies,
these are the most common life issues
we have encountered.
It is our hope, these discussions,
centered on the truth of God’s Word
will be beneficial to those who strug‐
gle with them and on another level,
become a resource for those who min‐
ister in the highways and bywayssharing God’s love with motorcyclists
who struggle with these same issues.
This project will be available this
spring and work hand in hand with
our new printed Biblical keys
resource, CMA’s Ride Guide.
As the Holy Spirit continues to
guide the ministry of CMA and pro‐
vide new tools to use to reach motor‐
cyclists we will continue to serve bik‐
ers, offering hope and pointing people
to Jesus. CMA

Evangelist Article
For most of us, March means the end of a long, cold
winter and the arrival of spring, warmer weather
and finally getting the bike out and riding some‐
where. By the time March rolls around, I am so ready
to get on my bike and ride… maybe nowhere in partic‐
ular, just go for a ride. It’s something that I really
enjoy and look forward to after what usually feels like
a really long winter.
I believe that God has put in each of us, certain
desires, gifts and abilities that come easy for us and
we enjoy doing. When we are doing those things, there
is a sense of fulfillment, accomplishment and satisfac‐tion that we feel.
But you know, we live in a complicated world. We
have pressures from all sides, pushing us to do things
that in the “world’s eyes” are good, but they can tend
to take us away from the things that God has put with‐
in us. Also, there are so many things that we have at
our disposal that can distract us and we lose sight of
the calling that God has on our lives.
Just as an example let’s talk about texting. I would
much rather talk with someone on the phone than text
because my fingers are too fat and I always hit the
wrong key! Anyway, it is a good tool…if used correct‐
ly. You can see countless videos on U‐tube of people
texting and running into things while walking and tex‐
ting. And worst is texting while driving. This texting
thing has become an obsession! If not used correctly,
we can be so focused on texting, that we lose track of
where we are and where we are going. And doing that
can bring about some disastrous results! The same can
happen if we take our eyes or focus off of God and His
purpose in our lives! In this world we live in, there are
so many distractions and pressures that we encounter
every day as we go to work, school or whatever we do,
that it is very easy to lose our focus.
God so wants us to do what He’s created us to do
and the only way we can do that is keep our focus on
Him! In Jeremiah we read: “For I know the plans I have
for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and
not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In
those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for
me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by
you," says the Lord. "I will end your captivity and
restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the
nations where I sent you and will bring you home
again to your own land” (Jeremiah 29:11‐14, NLT). For
me, the key to these promises is “If you look for mewholeheartedly, you will find me.” In the midst of all
the distractions, we MUST focus on God!
Here is one more scripture we all know, “But seek
first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all
these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33‐34,
NKJV).
My heart’s desire is to do all that God has created
me to do, but it’s made very clear in scripture, that the
only way I can do that is to focus on God and to seek
Him first. That’s all I have to do and He will take care
of the rest!
As we come to
another riding
season, let’s
purpose to keep
our mind and
heart focused
on God and His
plans for us.
May God richly
bless you in all
you do this rid‐
ing season! CMA

Evangelist Article
The rain was a steady downpour on Iron Mountainwhen they rolled it from the
trailer and into the Pavilion. Folkswere milling around like they do at the start of the Colors Rally andnot many paid any notice to what was going on just outside theGoodie store.
A handful of folks started rub‐
bing it down, drying it off, polish‐ing it up. It was like bringing athoroughbred race horse in out of the rain. The crowd around it steadily grew as it became obviousthat this was no ordinary motorcy‐cle. This machine was a work of art.
It was a 1958 Harley DavidsonFL Panhead with 30 over pistonsand old school kick start on a rigidframe with a custom extendedfront end and ratchet top trans‐
mission. There is genuine goldflake in the paint. It dazzles the eyeas light reflects and retracts in itssleek chrome and warm gold plat‐ed detailing. This is a bike youcan't help but admire. It is worthtens of thousands of dollars andrepresents countless hours of labor. It was there because a smalltown preacher from Idaho, whodid every bit of the work himself,on a nickel and dime budget, whowas not even a CMA member, wanted to donate it to CMA.
Before Jack Harwell investedtwenty years in restoring this bike,it had been used to smuggle illegaldrugs out of Mexico and intoTexas. In 1987 Harwell barteredmechanic work to buy the engine, frame and transmission. Jack saysthis bike was not only restored, but redeemed, just like him.
Jack Harwell grew up hard andpoor in Cleburne Texas. He was
always in trouble for fighting but football allowed him to hit peoplewithout getting in trouble. It alsoearned him a college scholarship, but after a few weeks of classes hedropped out in pursuit of illegaldrugs and fast bikes. He workeddead end jobs and got high whiledrifting over the yellow line ontothe wrong side of the law.
He was in an apartment in Fort
Worth, Texas getting high when hesaw the apartment owners fiveyear old son sniffing spray paint fumes to get high. It sickened himto think of a child being drawn intothat life style. Jack says it was thefirst time God pricked his con‐science.
A few months later, Jack had togo to a local Rescue Mission to pick up a friend who was trying to conthe preacher there. Jack met the
first Godly man who had ever real‐ly impressed him. Jack thought Jesus Christ was a sissy and any‐one who believed in him was pret‐ty much a sissy too. But PastorJames Walker was a red neck for‐mer rail road worker with an irongrip hand shake. This guy was nosissy. Jack was distracted by ayoung lady he wanted to get toknow better so he would show uponce in a while, after the preach‐ing, to avoid the guilt trip.
One night he got drawn into apublic prayer circle of about 25people taking turns praying. Heknew God was dealing with himand had about decided maybe hewould give his life to Christ whenit was his turn to pray. Just thenthree police cars pulled up andmade the group disband. Jack knew this was a tactic of satan andhe fully understood satan wouldfight hard to hold onto him.
The next night Jack felt drawnback to the Mission. Walkerpreached on hell and Jack listened. He wasn't afraid of dying. He hadalready faced death many times. It was that little boy he had seen get‐ting high that haunted him; that his choices, the life style he hadchosen and fully supported alsohurt a lot of innocent people alongthe way.
When the invitation came togive his heart and life to God, thepull was so strong, he had to hangonto his seat to keep from goingforward. He knew angels anddemons might be doing battle forhis soul. The church service endedand the people all left. But JamesWalker walked down the aisle andsat with Jack. He met Jack wherehe was, just like Jesus would do,and Jack gave his life to Christ that
night. That was March, 1974. Jack returned to his home town andfamily. When they saw the dramat‐ic change in him, his parents andsiblings all made a commitment toChrist. Jack eventually felt called topreach. He studied and practicedhis preaching in Rescue Missionsaround Texas.
He married and had a family but in 1980, his wife left him and Jack left the pulpit because at that time,
most denominations forbid adivorced man to pastor or preach. He back slid for a while there but eventually, like the prodigal son,he came to his senses and back tothe ministry. In 1993 he accepted acall to serve as pastor for a smallchurch in Malad, Idaho.
He began restoring the Panheadin 1987. He never borrowedmoney to do the work and it oftensat for months until time and

As we get ready for another riding season. We have a great opportunity, as we look at Laconia Bike Week the week before the
National East Rally.Below is just a taste of things that can happen,
when we follow God’s calling on our lives. TheHeartBeat isn’t big enough for Eileen and I toshare the stories and friends we made in Laconia. No matter how you look at them, we all needJesus.
On the shores of beautiful Lake
Winnipesaukee, along the weathered board walk and pier that secures the majestic cruise ship,“The Mount Washington” is the setting of the old‐est motorcycle rally in the United States. LaconiaBike Week has been attracting motorcyclists tothe mountains of New Hampshire for 90 years.
CMA has ministered to these folks for manyyears sharing Jesus on the streets, at the CoffeeHouse, in the booths, and at the Hill Climb. AsGod’s children we need to, “be doers of the word, and not hearers only…” (James 1:22, NKJV). Manyof these bikers come to Weirs Beach to consume
as many cans and bottles of beer as they can. Inthis way they desensitize their bodies with afalse feeling of joy that earthly pleasures afford.CMA is there to offer them an abundant life inChrist. “But whoever drinks of the water that Ishall give him will never thirst” (John 4:14,NKJV).
At our coffee house in the Methodist Churchwe offer two AA meetings each day. Often we seeup to 30 people, twice a day, who come toencourage each other in their desire to resist alcohol. After several days and nights it is easy tofeel tired and wonder if our efforts are in vain.
One day while sitting in our prayer area I openedthe Bible that was sitting on the table and wasreminded of this verse, “And let us not growweary while doing good, for in due season weshall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9,NJKV). After reading and praying awhile, Iwalked outside wondering if I should just gohome for the rest of the day. As I walked awayfrom the building I noticed a man comingtowards me. As we gained eye contact he asked if someone could pray with him. I told him I wouldbe happy to. Richard went on to explain that his
wife had been diagnosed with cancer and wasnot expected to live more than 12 months. Afterabout 35 minutes of praying with him and shar‐ing scripture with him he acknowledged Christ asSavior. Then, concerned for his wife, I explainedhow he could share Christ with her and how shecould accept Christ as well. I know he wasblessed because he continued to hug me andweep on my shoulder. As we parted I thankedGod for blessing me with placing this lonely manin my path at that moment and for allowing me
to be used for His glory. At a time when I wasready to give up for the day God had other plansby reminding me of His faithfulness through Hisword.
The next morning I remembered what Jesussaid in Matthew 10:32, “Whoever acknowledgesme before others, I will also acknowledge beforemy Father in heaven” (NIV). A revived spirit lift‐ed my heart and sent me out in the crowds of people and bikes planting seeds of hope to any‐one who would listen.
We need YOU to come to Laconia and share
with boldness the Gospel of Jesus. Simply havingJesus in our hearts is not enough. Jesus tells us tobe “fishers of men,” which means seeking andknocking, expecting doors to be opened. Weoften are very much in need of workers as theharvest is great and the workers are few. Ourfaith and gift of salvation needs to be shared withothers. “In the same way; faith by itself, if it isnot accompanied by action, is dead” (James 2:17,NIV).
CMA is a light in this otherwise dark bikerworld in Laconia. Light is the only thing that canovercome dark‐
ness. Comeand join otherCMA’ers whoare known bytheir fruits at this rally. Wecan work together,Changing theworld, oneheart at atime. CMA

The 2013 motorcycling sea‐son is springing into gear. That means it’s time to take
stock of our rides and accessories.Do I remember
where I storedthe leathers? Are the tiresproperly inflat‐ed? Can the oldtent keep therain out? Do Ihave enougheggs and baconon hand to feedmore than 500hungry bikers?
As enthusiasts across the nationclean the cobwebs out of thespokes and wrestle with unyield‐ing oil stick caps, Brad and PattyPeyree have already hit the high‐ways. And as they always do, theChristian Motorcyclists Associationmembers served free breakfasts tohundreds of fellow campers.
Brad and Patty, who are presi‐dent and secretary of the Desert Son Riders in Yuma, Arizona, arealready re‐stocking supplies for
the second of the five big eventsmany southwest bikers will attenden masse – The Yuma Prison Run.At the annual April event the cou‐ple and their ministry partners willserve free breakfasts to anyoneand everyone.
They do it out of love forunchurched bikers. Their prayer isthat the free meal opens doors toshare Christ with unbelievers. It’s asimple recipe ‐‐ freshly brewed
coffee, a breakfast burrito or two,
and when the Spirit urges, a prayerand a little Gospel for the road. And it works.
In 2009, Brad and Patty met Rhonda. Hurting from the recent
loss of a brother, the young ladywas adrift at theToo Broke ForSturgis event held each year at Mormon Lake inArizona. Shestumbled intothe Peyree campfor the free foodthat was offered.
Patty had lost two brothers and
was able to minister to Rhondaand share Christ with her. Rhondais one of many who have accepted
Christ because Brad and Pattywere willing to share theirresources to help others.
The breakfast ministry startedby chance in July 2008 at Too
Broke. Brad and Patty shared theirbreakfast with a couple whocamped nearby. They alsobefriended a hungry biker laterthat day, and invited him to theircamp for a sandwich. Others walk‐ing by were also served. As the daywore on Brad and Patty realizedmany of those accepting a sand‐wich were partaking of the onlymeal they would receive at theweekend event. Many came unpre‐pared or had unwisely spent their
money on booze or drugs. From that humble beginning
grew the breakfast ministry. Each

Have you ever heard your mom or dad say, “Nothing is ever free.” Well, there is one thing that is available to
everyone and it really is free. No strings attached, you don’t have to pay for it, and you don’t have to ever give it
back. Do you know what it is? It is salvation. When you know you have done bad things, called sins, you are
ready to accept the gift of salvation. When you ask Jesus into your heart, you know Jesus died on the cross and
paid for your sins so they can be forgotten forever. Once you ask Jesus into your heart, He will always be there.
You can never lose your salvation.
Are you ready to ask Jesus into your heart? If so here is a prayer that will help you:
Dear Jesus, I know I have sinned and I am sorry. I ask You to come into my heart. I know You died on the cross
for me. Thank You for Your love for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
If you have questions about Jesus or salvation, you can talk to your parents or maybe your Sunday school
teacher. They will be willing to listen and can help you understand salvation even better.
“ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoeverbelieveth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16, KJV).
Supplies Needed:
Pencil
Crayons or Markers
Beads, Glitter, or Stickers
Glue
Scissors
Connect the dots of the cross with a marker
or pencil. Then you can color it with markers
or crayons. You can even decorate it with
beads, glitter, or stickers. Once you have it
decorated, hang it up in your room or put it in
a special place to remind you Jesus loves you
enough to die on the cross.

As I sit here with minus 15 on the thermome‐ter and think of the coming of spring andthe new riding season, I thank God for the
seasons of my life and calling in CMA. We havebeen blessed to see God’s mighty hand at work inso many ways through you, the servants of Godin this ministry. We are especially blessed whenwe are on the road and meet someone at a gasstation and they begin to tell of how God usedyou in their lives when no one else seemed tocare. They tell us how you fed them and cared for
their families and their precious children. Thenwe are privileged to go on a mission trip withyou and the same is said by the missionaries andtheir families; “You have brought us transporta‐tion, hope, and love and have given us a visionfor our work where we live.”
Because of all of you, the Kingdom keeps grow‐ing and God’s word is carried out to the entireworld. We all have seen what Run for the Son hasaccomplished because you cared enough to goand share what our mission is to the world. Youhave shared the vision, Changing the world, one
heart at a time with those who wouldn’t have theopportunity to know about our mission for theLord. Your passion for your calling is such ablessing to Rayleen and me. We feel so privileged
to walk along side of you and share in the mes‐sage of hope to all who God brings to our path.Together with you, and the leading of the HolySpirit, we will accomplish more than we canbelieve as we see Run for the Son grow in num‐bers of participation and in monies raised for theKingdom. We believe this year will have a har‐vest like no other because you are truly God’sservants in the field.
Our prayer is that as you go out this year mayyou experience GOD’S calling on your life and see
others come to know HIM, one heart at a time.John 4:35 saysthat the fieldsare ripe untoharvest. As wepray and pre‐pare for Runfor the Son, weshouldremember that it is not for usbut for the liv‐
ing God and hewill use us in amighty way.CMA

“Rise and Shine” is a phrase I
heard often as a child. My
dad would wake me up
every morning singing reveille and
saying those words. As a little girl, I
was delighted to
be woken up that
way. As I grew
into my teen
years I admit it
bugged me. What
I wouldn’t give to
hear my daddy
say those things
to me again. After I married and had
children, it’s a song my kids learned in
Sunday School. “Rise and shine and
give God the glory, glory!” It waspeppy and fun with gestures to go
along with it.
After reading a friend’s post about
the frustrations of working on a new
computer that would not cooperate, I
realized that it’s a rough world out
there and we don’t even have to leave
the house! Life is so frustrating. The
world says it’s walking in “freedom”
yet chaos is the norm everywhere.
There’s very little commitment, hard‐
ly any standards and what used to be
normal is viewed as weird. Life hasindeed gotten topsy turvy, in a state
of utter disorder and confusion. Often
it’s hard to get up in the morning and
to turn on the tv means hearing news
about wars, murders, disasters and
more. Rarely do we wake up to hear
anything that will bring joy or peace
or comfort.
So how do we do it? How do we
live in the light when all around us is
falling apart? How do we present the
Truth in light of such wrong thinking?
Where do we go to find peace in a
world in such uproar? Can we find joy
in the midst of darkness? Can we
make ends meet in a world that wants
more and more
and more from
us? What about
our rights? What
about our future?
Who cares if
we’re going off a
fiscal cliff or a
spiritual cliff? Can
we hang on, can we survive, can we
overcome?
Oh beloved, it’s time to “Rise and
shine and give God the glory!” It’stime to wake up in the morning and
praise the One Who gave you every‐
thing for life and godliness, in spite of
the sorrow that hits you square in the
face, the gloom
and concern that
wakes you up, in
spite of the hurts
and regrets and
unfulfilled
dreams. For
God’s Word is
your only sourceof hope, not just
in bad times, but
in good times as
well. God knows
you and He has promised many things
to you. And His promises are not left
at the altar, but rather His promises
walk you down the aisle, carry you
throughout your life and stay with
you all the way to heaven! When the
world is tearing you down, God prom‐
ises to lift you above it. When people
are walking away, God has promised
to stay the course with you. When
sorrows hit, God has promised to give
you joy unspeakable and full of glory.
I know. When you’re in the midst
of the troubles, it’s hard to believe,
but God loves you. I know it’s difficult
some days to get out of bed, but God
is the One Who wakes you up each
day. And, if God Himself is waking
you up, then that’s a sure sign that He
has a plan for the day, regardless of
the headlines, the hurts, the fears or
the concerns. Just follow Him. Just
live by His Word. Just trust in the Only
One Who loves you unconditionally
and will never leave you or forsakeyou.
If you follow the Lord, live in the
light of His Word and seek His face,
everything else will work out. It might
be messy along
the way, but His
will for your life
will be complet‐
ed. Hangeth thou
in there, beloved!
“Send out Your
light and your
truth; let themguide me. Let
them lead me to
Your holy moun‐
tain, to the place
where You live” (Psalm 43:3, NLT).
“I have told you these things so that
you will be filled with My joy. Yes, your
joy will overflow!” (John 15:11, NLT).

Although God is the same and
never changes, He has
changed the way He deals
with mankind through Jesus. Now
we can be in His presence. Now we
can come to Him and not be afraid,
now we can bring our lives with all
of their brokenness and pain
before His mercy. What He wants
from us, now in His presence, is
simple. He wants us to listen.
“Be careful that you do not
refuse to listen to the One who
is speaking. For if the people of
Israel did not escape when
they refused to listen to Moses,
the earthly messenger, we will
certainly not escape if we
reject the One who speaks to
us from heaven! When God
spoke from Mount Sinai his
voice shook the earth, but nowhe makes another promise:
“Once again I will shake not
only the earth but the heavens
also.” This means that all of
creation will be shaken and
removed, so that only unshak‐
able things will remain.
Since we are receiving a
Kingdom that is unshakable,
let us be thankful and please
God by worshiping him with
holy fear and awe. For our God
is a devouring fire”
(Hebrews 12:25‐29, NLT).
Things are different now in the
way we approach the Almighty.
But what He wants from us hasn’t
changed. He wants us to listen to
Him. He wants us to pause in fear‐
ful reverence and take Him seri‐ously. He wants us to open up our
hearts to His voice, to what He
wants to do in our lives.
Now is the time, when the pres‐
ence of God is so close you can
actually feel the lump in your
throat and the anxiousness in your
belly, to shut up and listen. This is
the moment at the beginning of
this year, to come into the true
presence of God and take it very,
very seriously. He is surely speak‐ing. We need to listen. He has
brought you here at this moment
in time to hear. (Perhaps you want
to say this as a prayer: “I am here
to hear”). Wherever you find your‐
self, “I am here to hear.”
Young people and adults alike,
respect His presence and open up
your heart to listen to His voice. Of
course we could spend hours
teaching from the Scripture on
how a teenager should live and
what we think you need to hear
most from the Scripture. But, we
firmly hold, that what you need
most is to listen to the voice of
God. The Spirit of Christ speaking
directly to your heart. You need to
listen when He says “quit it!” You
need to listen as He guides you.
You need to listen when He drawsyou into His embrace and whis‐
pers “I love you.”
Now the fire doesn’t burn on a
mountain, but in the hearts of
young people who will respectful‐
ly listen. CMA

As we enter the New Year, I want to encourageyou to consider a new beginning for your life. That is exactly what my wife, Melanie, and I
did thirteen years ago. I’m not referring to a NewYear’s resolution. I’m talking about a life changingdecision. We made a decision to make a change that would alter the course and direction of our lives, aswell as the lives of those we touched along our jour‐ney. We began to follow a new purpose for living. The changes we made adjusted our priorities. Webegan to have a new understanding for our purpose
in life.I invite you to pick up a Bible and read the first
two chapters in the book of Genesis. It is the founda‐tion of the entire Bible. If you can’t accept the truthof the beginning of the Bible then there is no point tothe rest of the Book. If you need a Bible, let us know.We promise to make one available to you. For most of my life the Bible was just a book, but over thecourse of our decision to make a change we discov‐ered it was more than a book. It’s the living Word of God. God reveals the Truth of His Word as we con‐tinue our journey. God’s Word is revealed through
reading the Bible. Without a deci‐sion to change your life, the Biblewill never be more than “just abook.”
The first two chapters inGenesis describe “Creation.” If youcan’t get past the faith it takes to
believe that God made the heavensand the earth and everything inthem then you lack the foundationrequired to accept the rest of theBook. If you don’t believe in God,sin, the Ten Commandments, obe‐dience, rewards, punishment, thenJesus and the Holy Spirit will havelittle impact on your daily life.
For some people the decision tomake a change is instantaneous. For others, once the decision ismade, transformation to a newbeginning happens over a period
of time. My wife can tell you the day she changed, Ican only pinpoint the year for myself; it was early inthe year 2000. Since the time of our new beginning, life as we knew it no longer exists.
I invite you to join us in attending church. Pleaseunderstand that I am aware that attending church isnot going to change your life. You have to make adecision to change; no one can do it for you. I’moften reminded of the definition of insanity – when Icontinue to do things the same way and expect to get a different result.
Maybe you don’t see a need to change your life. You might find yourself quite content and comfort‐able with your life as it is; that is where I was. But if you are someone who feels that there is somethingmissing in your life, or if you are unhappy with lifeas you are living it, then it might be time for a lifechanging decision. I encourage you to make a step ina new direction and discover the new beginning that is waiting for you. You make the decision to changeand God will reveal the way.
God Bless you. CMA

Everybody loves an old fashion ‘singing.’ Thiscomes to us from the Capital City Riders for Christ FORMING CHAPTER, #2756 in Frankfort, Kentucky.Isn’t it great when a forming chapter has the vision
for Run for the Son?Their President writes: “Next month, we are hav‐ing a fundraiser at our chapter secretary's church. We’ll be having quartets in to sing, there will be anoffering taken during service and we will also havean auction. Everyone is being asked to bring some‐thing that can be auctioned off, whether it be a bicy‐
cle or food. The proceeds will go to Run for the Son.The quartets are coming to sing for free; they
want to support our fundraiser. There will also be abarbeque going on in the parking lot. We’ll have a
CMA information booth set up and everybody wecan think of is being invited.”What a great way to have fun and raise money for
RFS. If your chapter has a worship group, considerdoing a concert; any money raised could go to RFS.CMA

money allowed for the next step of the process. Redemption doesn't
take nearly as long as restorationdoes, with bikes and with people.Jack says God taught him a lot of good lessons along the way, likepatience, but never so much aswhen he had to paint it without apaint booth.
His plan was to use it as a showbike to share his testimony. Heshowed it a few times but felt most local venues did not understand orappreciate the bike... or his testi‐
mony.In the mid 1990s his littlechurch was visited by ChristianMotorcyclists from nearby LoganUtah. Jack knew about CMA but af riendship ensued with membersWayne Rennemyer and Jon Felenz.Jack felt led this past year todonate the bike to CMA. Hebelieved that CMA would under‐stand the value of the bike, not just mechanically and esthetically, but spiritually.
Jack believes the bike repre‐sents how God takes us‐ who were
maybe badly used and not worthso much anymore and makes usinto something beautiful and of great value to Him. Jack is now100% disabled and works part time while serving as a full timepastor but he is a man obedient tothe Father and the Father said togive it away.
He tried to hand over the title toJon Felenz at Seasons of Refreshing in 2012 but Jon
arranged for him and Jack to driveto Hatfield Arkansas for theChanging of the Colors Rally topresent the bike in person.
So in October 2012 Jack gave hisbeloved Panhead to CMA alongwith new tires, a new battery, atrailer and all the spare parts, because Jack says, anything yousacrifice to God should be yourbest and the utmost you can give, because that is what God did for uswhen He gave us His son.
Redeemed and restored, thebike graced the main stage in the
Iron Mountain Pavilion during the2012 Colors Rally, a symbol for allof us of a life changed by the powerof the Holy Spirit and a God whoreaches out to us, works patientlywith us and brings us finally to theplace He has prepared for us.Redeemed and Restored, just likeus. CMA

year since, more than 2,000 bikershave been fed. An average breakfast requires 20 dozen eggs, 10 poundsof sausage and bacon, 15 pounds of cheese, 15 pounds of potatoes, 300tortillas, 20 gallons of coffee, batterfor 200 pancakes, the makings for150 servings of biscuits and gravy, and hours of preparation. In 2012,the cost to fund the breakfast minis‐tery exceeded $18,000.
Brad and Patty clock untold ser‐vant hours, and they mount upmore than most riders. Their dedi‐cation to taking the Gospel tounchurched bikers has not goneunnoticed. At the CMA ArizonaState Rally in 2010, the couplereceived the Wayne HendersonServant’s Heart Award. The honor,
named after the long‐time westernregional evengelist, is given annual‐ly in Arizona to the individual orcouple who in the previous yeardemonstrated true servant min‐istry.
Sharing Christ is the heart andsoul of Brad and Patty’s ministry. And while that’s true now, ministrywas not on their minds when thecouple first decided to check out CMA.
“We just wanted to ride with
Christians,” Brad said of their initialinvolvement. “We wanted to besafe; we wanted a ride group. Thenwe found out it was a ministry.” It
wasn’t long before Brad and Pattylearned they fit right in. That’swhen the ministy began in earnest.
After arriving home from that first event where theyshared their food andthe Gospel, Brad andPatty decided theywould be more inten‐tional at their next excursion, which wasthe annual FourCorners event inColorado. Then inearly 2009 came TheYuma Prison Run.
“Now it’s becomeour staple, it’s what we do” Brad said of the breakfast ministry.
The five multi‐day events Brad,Patty, and friends attend annuallyinclude Parker Ranch, in Parker,AZ., every March; The Yuma PrisonRun in Yuma, AZ. in April; TheLaughlin River Run, in Laughlin,NV., is traditionally the week fol‐lowing The Prison Run; Too BrokeFor Sturgis is held at Arizona’sMormon Lake in late July; and theFour Corners event takes place overthe Labor Day Weekend.
Parker is the warm‐up event
each year. It is a gathering of Christian motorcyclists that helpsbelieving riders prepare for theministry opportunities they will
encounter in the coming months. All other events on the Peyree cal‐endar are attended by many differ‐ent kinds of bikers; one‐percenters
are heavily represented.
The breakfast ministry is just thebeginning of getting to know bikers,Brad said. To truly “earn the right”to speak to hard‐core bikersrequires sincerity.
“I’m a biker. I’m one of them,”Brad said. “Everybody knows that. We’re not wolves in sheep’s cloth‐ing. We’re the real thing.”
Brad said he is on his motorcycleall but maybe 15 days a year. Heputs 35,000 miles on his bike annu‐ally, and wears the CMA colors
everywhere he goes – to work, tochurch, and to biker events. Bradand Patty enjoy participating in the“fun” activities at biker events. The
Jan Melanson, Patty Peyree, Carol Sauter, and Brenda Heath serve breakfast.

couple is well known for their bike‐game abilities.
“We love to participate in thegames,” Patty said, “but everyoneknows when it comes to the night‐time activities – we’re not part of that.” Their stance on where to
draw the line, Brad added, hasearned them the respect of thebiker community; that and theirattitude toward the bikers.
“We’re not trying to get anyonecleaned up,” Brad said. “God cleansthem up after they’re saved. We’renot here to do the laundry.”
Joining Brad and Patty on most of the multi‐day events at whichbreakfasts are served are somefaithful ministry partners includingTerri “Grumpy” Slyder and Doug,Jan, and Mikkie Melanson. All aremembers of CMA in Arizona.Grumpy is the vice president of Chairot Warriors for Christ inGoodyear, and Doug and Jan are thevice president and treasurer of theDesert Son Riders in Yuma.
In addition are the hidden part‐ners. Through Desert OasisMinistry, a 501c3 sub‐corporationof Grace Bible Fellowship, which isBrad and Patty’s church in Yuma,
family and friends provide thefinancial support required for thebreakfast ministry. All the funds gotoward food and ministry mainte‐nance. No funds are alloted formotorcycle payments or profits of any kind, said Brad, who is alicensed minister through GraceBible Fellowship. As for their per‐sonal expenses, Brad and Patty bothwork full‐time jobs. They use theirpersonal vacation time to partici‐pate in and travel to and from bikerevents.
The breakfast couple, who havebeen CMA members since 2007,have been married for 18 years. Each has two children, and togetherthey are the grandparents of three.
Brad said he and Patty take seri‐ously the Apostle James’ exhorta‐tion to display faith through worksof love. Their mission matches that of CMA, Changing the world, oneheart at a time. CMA
