1. Introduction

CMA engineering Inc. has been incorporated since 1986 and has since

then accomplished a number of projects in the manufacturing end of the forest

products and mining industries, including (but not limited to) the conceptual

design, engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural and Electrical), PLC/HMI

programming, arc flash studies, equipment procurement, project management,

construction management and start up assistance of board plants (OSB,

Particleboard and MDF), sawmills, plywood mills, underground mines,

concentrators, smelters and other specialty services.

CMA engineering Inc. also offers a wide range of management consulting

services for medium size businesses and large corporations. CMA has done a

number of feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, business planning, budget

preparation and personnel training. All our professional services are offered in

both French and English.

Values of single projects have ranged from less than $65,000.00 to as

3. Experience Overview - Forestry

Following is a list of forestry projects accomplished by CMA since its inception.

Nov 18 to Norbord (Cordele, Georgia)

Present Provided Process Flow Diagrams and budgets for various

scenarios (11 in total) for the installation of a third OSB line

at the Norbord Cordele mill in Georgia.

Jan 18 to Georgia-Pacific (Englehart, Ontario)

Present Provided conceptual design for the upgrading of the Line 2

Finishing Line at the Georgia-Pacific mill in Englehart,

Ontario. The upgrade consists of adding a new paint booth,

stenciler, bundle wrapper and a second parallel strapping

line. Detail engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural and

Electrical) is presently being done for the second parallel

strapping line.

Jan 17 to Norbord (Chambord, Québec)

Present Provided conceptual design, budget preparation and detail

engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural and Electrical) for

the complete modernisation of the idled Norbord OSB mill in

Chambord. The project consists of the following mill

modifications:

- New jack ladder system for all of the four existing

ponds.

- Replace one of the two Nicholson ring debarker

system with one Fuji King debarker system.

- Modify the feed system to three existing stranders.

- Upgrade one of the three stranders.

- Modify the outfeed conveyor system of one strander.

- Replace the existing four dryer systems with one

larger dryer system.

- Modify the bark handling system.

- Finishing line upgrades such as a new paint booth,

stenciler, board stacker, blow detector, ink jet

branding and nail lines and various other

improvements.

- New Scrubber and WESP (Wet Electrostatic System).

- Wet fuel silo improvement.

- The addition of a baghouse system and modifications

of various pneumatic systems.

- New conveying system for the addition of a PMDI in

the bottom surface.

- The addition of a fines turbo blending system and

secondary screening system.

Feb 17 to West Fraser (Blue Ridge, Alberta)

Present Provided detail engineering (Mechanical, Civil and

Structural) for a complete system for proper and permanent

access to various points around the MDF press at the West

Fraser MDF mill in Blue Ridge, Alberta.

June 17 to Georgia-Pacific (Englehart, Ontario)

Present Provided detail engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural and

Electrical) for the installation of a plant wide explosion

suppression system at the Georgia-Pacific OSB mill in

Englehart, Ontario. The system will entail the addition of

approximately 70 chemical explosion suppression bottles

and various explosion relief rupture system along with all

required access platforms and lifting devices.

June 17 to West Fraser (Blue Ridge, Alberta)

Present Provided a review of conceptual design for the installation of

an explosion suppression system for the complete West

Fraser MDF mill in Blue Ridge, Alberta. The system is

comprised of approximately 165 chemical explosion

suppression bottles and various explosion relief rupture

systems.

June 17 to Norbord (Grande Prairie, Alberta)

April 18 Provided detail engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural and

Electrical) for the following projects for the Norbord OSB mill

in Grande Prairie, Alberta:

- Strand Reclaim System;

- Wet bin discharge doffing roll system;

- Complete primary and secondary screening systems;

- Complete wet strand conveyor system to tie the GP-1

line to the GP-2 project;

- Bark re-entry system;

- Complete Bark Hog system;

- Complete conveyor system to feed strands to the dry

strand bins;

- All Low-Pressure and High-Pressure Pneumatic

systems associated with the above.

July 17 to Arbec Forest Products (Miramichi, New

Provided detail engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural

and Electrical) for the replacement of two (2) triple pass

dryer systems with larger single pass dryer system for the

Arbec OSB mill in New Brunswick. Among others, provided

all required modifications to the material handling system for

50% increase in throughput.
