The rules that must come into force:

- Containers should be selected and the use of grade

C containers or at least 8 years old containers is

strongly recommended. The use of Brand new

containers is strictly forbidden.

- Wood logs MUST not be in contact with the sides of

the container (doors, left and right hand side, front

side and roof.

- Wood logs MUST be properly lashed and secured

using blocks / wedges and iron strip.

The accepted logs:

Logs are classified as followed

-Light logs:

Density # 0.6 ; Ø ≤ 2.0 meters

-Mid weight logs:

Density # 0.8 ; Ø < 2 meters

-Heavy logs

Density ≥ 1 , Ø ≤ 1.70 meters (Kevazingo / Bubinga is

forbidden) ;

The lashing material

Iron strip of minimum 22 mm + clamps

The chocking material

Blocks / wedges must be used in order to chock

the wood logs.

-CMA-CGM / Delmas reserves the right to

attend and monitor any wood logs stuffing at

any time.

-The stuffing remains the responsibility of the

shipper.

Reminder of the role with the involved parties

We remind you that Delmas lines are currently experiencing problems concerning the badly-stuffing logs into containers. The non-respect of the stuffing rules includes but are not limited to, damage to the cargo itself, damage to the vessel and injury to crew/stevedores

It is strongly require, in the interest of all the parties involved in the transport to take all the precautions in the purposes to avoid all damages.

The sea carrier reserves his right to have recourses to legal actions in order to enforce the above dispositions and seek the responsible of damages whatsoever its nature.

1 - Receipt of empty container

The shipper had to check the suitability and the general condition of the container (good state of the walls, etc), and issue the adequate reservations.

2 – Stuffing

The stuffing operations are incumbent on the shipper who is responsible to comply with stuffing rules.

3 - Receipt of full container at quay for loading

An EIR has to be issued at receipt of the container , with possible reservations if some damages were noted on the container.

4 – Loading/Unloading

During these operations, the vessel will issue reservations on the load and discharge list, if some damages are noted.

5 – release of full container

An EIR has to be issued at release of the container out of Terminal, with possible reservations if some damages were noted on the container, to the consignee or representative.

6 - Unstuffing

The unstuffing operations are incumbent on the consignee who is responsible to comply with unstuffing rules

7 - Receipt of empty container

The container s have to be returned in a clean and odourless condition, free all debris, dunnage, lashing redeliver this unit

All acceptance of a container without any reservations lead to the acceptance of the container in good state
